01-RA Research Associate (One Post) OR Senior Research Fellow (One Post)

“Molecular Pathways regulating Ovarian Cancer Cell Plasticity and Stem cell properties”
under supervision of Dr. Sharmila Bapat, Scientist ‘F’

35 Years

32 Years

Essential: Ph.D. in any branch of life science or equivalent degree or having three years of research experience after MVSc/MPharm/ME/MTech.

Desirable: Experience in molecular biology and cell biology techniques.

Note: Those who have submitted Ph.D. thesis may also apply.

Essential: M. Sc. in Bioinformatics with minimum of 55% marks and two years of post-M.Sc. research experience.

Essential: M.Sc. or equivalent degree with minimum of 55% marks in any branch of life science and having valid qualified NET/GATE/LS.

Desirable: Proficiency in Gene cloning, Mutagennesis, Protein expression, protein refolding & purification. Candidate familiar with crystallization & X-ray structure analysis is desirable.

Candidate with previous research experience utilizing the above mentioned techniques would be given preference.

Rs. 16,000/- + 20% HRA for 1st & 2nd Year, Rs. 18,000/- + 20% HRA for 3rd year onwards

Desirable: Experience in animal cell culture, fluorescent microscopy, FACS, Western blots and able to handle the small animals like mice.

Essential: M.Sc. or equivalent degree with minimum of 55% marks in any branch of life science and having valid qualified NET/GATE/LS.

Desirable: Experience in stem cells or molecular biology. Cloning is a plus point and would be desirable. Candidate should have worked in a lab at least 6 to 12 months as a part of project or otherwise.

Applications in the prescribed format* duly filled in along with attested copies of all relevant certificates showing date of birth, qualifications (SSC onwards), experience, details of the exam passed, caste status and other necessary documents should reach to The Director, National Centre For Cell Science, NCCS Complex, Pune University Campus, Post: Ganeshkhind, Pune –411 007, Maharashtra, India on or before 20.01.2015. The A4 size envelope containing the application must be superscribed in bold letters on the top as under: “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF…………”.

Applications received after the due date and / or without the copies of the required certificates/documents will not be considered. Incomplete applications will be strictly rejected.

Candidates must be filled up latest prescribed application form only which is available on our institute website under career tab.

Mere fulfilling the minimum prescribed qualifications and experience will not vest any right in a candidate for calling for interview. The Centre reserves the right to call for interview only those candidates who in its opinion are likely to be suitable. However, no any correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

SC/ST/OBC candidates must produce proof of their caste certificate from appropriate authority.

In addition, OBC candidates must also produce latest/valid non-creamy layer certificate in the prescribed form for claiming the reservation benefits.  5% Marks relaxation will be given to SC/ST candidates i.e. minimum of 50 % marks.

The Director, NCCS reserves the right to enhance / reduce the number of posts and also cancel the recruitment process. Candidates should specifically note that due to postal delay applications will not be entertained by this institute after due date and no correspondence will be made in this regard. Candidates are required to mention the post preference as per their interest and research area in the prescribed application form.

Fellowship/Emoluments: For JRF Position, Selected candidates who have qualified NET/GATE with valid fellowship/award will be paid monthly emoluments of Rs. 16,000/- p.m. + HRA for 1st & 2nd year, Rs. 18,000/- p.m. + HRA for 3rd year depending on the project sanction order.

Candidates, who have LS qualifications will be paid monthly emoluments of Rs.12, 000/- p.m. + HRA for 1st & 2nd Year, Rs. 14,000/- + HRA for 3rd year depending on the project sanction order. For RA Position, Candidates who are yet to be awarded the Ph.D. degree, if selected, will be paid Rs. 18,000/- pm + HRA till the award of the degree.

Emoluments to the research personnel engaged under project will be made in accordance with the DST O.M. No. A.20020/1197-IFD dated 31.03.2010.

Candidates should mention title of the thesis, list of publications with full references in the
application form.

List of shortlisted candidates called for interview will be published on our institute website on or after 30/01/2015.

Upper age limit will be considered as on closing date of receipt of application. Age relaxation of 5 years in case of SC/ST/Women/PH candidates and 3 years in case of OBC candidates will be given as per Government of India rules. Reservation as per Govt. of India norms will be followed.

No TA will be paid for attending the interview.

Selected candidates will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer of appointment.

Please bring all the original certificates showing date of birth, qualification, statement of marks of the exam passed, degree certificates, certificate of past experience, certificate in support of present employment, salary certificate & other relevant documents along with a set of attested copies at the time of interview.

For any of the above advertised positions, if candidates are not found suitable, lower positions will be offered.

Candidates should report at 8.45 am sharp at NCCS security main gate on the above mentioned address and register their names in the register on the interview date(s). Candidates reporting after 9.15 am will not be permitted to attend the interview, which may be noted.
