Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON), Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) requires Senior and Junior Project Fellows for four projects in Munnar Landscape Project at Kerala;
(i) Developing Site specific eco-restoration Protocol based on existing community requirements,
(ii) Landuse and management plan for production landscapes,
(iii) Ecosystem requirements of Hornbills and
(iv) Plant Animal (Birds and Butterflies) Community studies in various landscape elements
Name of the positions:
1. Senior Project Fellow
Number of Vacancy – 1 (Zoology/Wildlife Biology)
2. Junior Project Fellow
Number of Vacancy – 9 (1-Geoinformatics; 1-Sociology; 7 Biological Sciences)
Age: below 28 years for Junior Project Fellow and 30 for Senior Project Fellow on the date of application
Duration: 1 year
Fellowship: As per DST norms for the NET/ GATE qualified candidates and for non-NET/GATE qualified as per SACON rules
Qualification:
Junior Project Fellows – A minimum second class Post graduate degree in respective subjects (Botany, Zoology, Ecology, Environmental Sciences, Forestry, Wildlife Biology, Sociology, economics, Geoinformatics)
Senior Project Fellow – A minimum second class Post graduate degree in Biological Sciences plus a minimum of 2 years of field research experience
Age limit relaxation is available for ST/SC/OBC/Women Candidates as per the Govt. of India Rules.
