Project Title: Molecular approaches for mapping of novel gene(s)/ QTL(s) for resistance/ tolerance to Panicle blast and Sheath blight in Rice

Research Associate 01 (One)

Consolidated Rs.24000/‐ for Ph.D. holders and for MSc holders Rs.22000/‐ for first two years & Rs. 23000/- from 3 rd year onward (+ 30% HRA)

Ph.D. Degree in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/ Life Sciences/ allied sciences; or M.Sc in Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/Life Sciences/ allied sciences with 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average with at least two years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/ Associateship / Training/ other engagements. 4-5 years research experience in molecular biology techniques, plant tissue culture and genetic transformation in rice and data analysis. Published research papers will be desirable.

Senior Research Fellow 03 (Three)

Rs 16000/- +30% HRA & Rs. 18000/- +30% HRA from 3rd year onward

M.Sc. in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Allied Sciences One year or more experience in molecular biology techniques, plant tissue culture, genetic transformation.

Project Title: Rice MetaSys: Understanding rice gene network through system biology approach” funded by ICAR under Centre for Agricultural Bioinformatics (CABin)

Research Associate 01 (One)

First Class Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or Life Sciences. Research experience in bioinformatics analysis especially with NGS data, as evidenced from Fellowship/ Associateship / Training/ other engagements.

Junior Research Fellow 01

12,000+ HRA (for Non NET qualified) /16,000+HRA (for CSIR- NET qualified)

Master’s degree in Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Life Sciences with 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average. Research experience in biochemical/molecular biology/plant transformation techniques

Project Title: Translational research on root knot Nematode tolerant RNAi transgenics based on vital parasite gene targets from validation to proof-of-concept to selection of event(s) in the field under confined conditions

Junior Research Fellow 01

12,000+ HRA for 1 st and 2nd year & Rs. 14000/- +HRA from 3rd year

Master’s degree in Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Life Sciences with 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average. Research experience in molecular biology techniques preferably in plant tissue culture, genetic transformation and molecular analysis

The interview will be held on February 09, 2015 at Room No-125, LBS Building, Pusa Campus, New Delhi – 110012

Terms and Conditions

1. Age Limit: 35 years max. (5 years relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and woman candidates as per ICAR rules). 2. The positions are purely temporary, on a contractual basis and are initially offered for one year. 3. The candidates must bring four copies of biodata (strictly in the format attached) along with original certificates and self-attested photocopies of each of the documents/ certificates and one recent passport size photograph. 4. No TA/DA would be given for appearing in the interview. 5. Only the candidates having essential qualifications would be considered for the interview. 6. Persons already in employment should bring “No Objection Certificate” from their present employer. 7. The decision of the Project Director of this Institute will be final and binding in all aspects. 8. The person employed will have no right to claim employment or engagement in ICAR at the end of the contract period. 9. In case of any disputes, it will be resolved within the jurisdiction of New Delhi Court only.
