Walk in interview for the following position will be held at Department of Biochemistry & Agricultural Chemistry, AAU, Jorhat-785013, on 20th, July 2015 at 10:30 am. Interested candidates are requested to appear the interview with application in plain paper along with bio-data, recent passport size photograph, original and attested copy of all supporting testimonials. No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview. ICAR, New Delhi approved Network project, on Trangenics in Crops (NPTC), Sub Project: ICAR–NPTC-3088,

Research Associate (Two)

Ph.D. Degree in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry / Molecular Biology / Genetics/allied sciences; or M. Sc in  Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/Molecular Biology/ Genetics/allied sciences with 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average with at least two years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/ Associate ship.

Desirable :  2 years research experience in plant transformation/ molecular biology techniques as evidenced by published papers

Rs.24000+ HRA for Ph.D. and for M. Sc Rs.23000/‐ + HRA

Senior Research Fellow (Two)

M.Sc. in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Allied Sciences/Agricultural sciences with 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average

Desirable: Experience in basic molecular biology and plant transformation

Rs 16000/-+ HRA & Rs. 18000/-+HRA from 3rd year

General Terms & Conditions applicable to all the positions:


a) Age Limit: 35 years max. (5 years relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and woman candidates as per ICAR rules).
b) The positions are purely temporary, on a contractual basis and are initially offered for one year.
c) The period and duration of the scheme is tentative and the same may change.
d) The person employed will have no right to claim employment or engagement in AAU at the end of the contract period.
e) No TA/DA will be provided for appearing in the interview.
f) Persons already in employment should bring “No Objection Certificate” from their present employer.
g) The candidates must bring with them five copies of the CV along with original documents such as thesis, degree certificates, marks sheets, publications, experience certificate etc. for verification and one set of self attested copy of all certificates.
h) The decision of the Director of Research (Agril), AAU will be final and binding in all aspects.
