Openings for a Research Associate in RNE funded project on “Developing species pages and distribution maps for molluscs, amphibians and other lesser known
Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) is looking for a suitable candidate for a project on, ‘Developing species pages and distribution maps for molluscs, amphibians and other lesser-known taxa’. This project is funded by Royal Norwegian Embassy (RNE). The major task involves developing species pages for molluscs, amphibians, and other lesser-known taxa which will be uploaded in India Biodiversity Portal (IBP;www.indiabiodiversity.org). The job also involves developing database for different species from various sources including social and Internet media,, analyzing the data, developing maps, niche modeling as well as writing manuscripts.
Essential qualifications
BSc (Zoology or Environmental Science) or M.Sc (Zoology, Environmental Science, or Life Sciences) Candidate should be motivated to work on the above-mentioned aspects independently. He/she should have good interpersonal and communication skills and should be willing to work in a team. He/She should be willing to visit museums and collect data, carry out data analysis and write reports and manuscripts. Preference will be given to candidates who have knowledge on biodiversity, species distribution mapping/ modeling.
