Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) is looking for a Program Associate for the Western Ghats component of its project, ‘Managing India’s forests for biodiversity and human well-being in the face of global environmental change’, to be implemented in the Western Ghats and Eastern Himalaya. This project, which has been funded by USAID, will focus on increasing income of forest dependent communities; supporting innovations for fuel wood management; and strengthening systems for forest resources management.
Program Associate (1 position)
Essential qualifications
Masters degree with more than 4 years of experience/ Post Doc fellow with more than 2 years of experience/fresh PhD from a reputed university. Candidate should have quality publications related to the area of research. He/she should have good interpersonal and communication skills and should be willing to work as a team. He/She will undertake the lab work, including research design, developing microsatellite markers, population genetic analysis, data analysis and writing reports. The candidate should be prepared to carry out fieldwork in the Western Ghats.
