Applications are invited from eligible candidates for seven posts of ‘Junior Research Fellow (JRF)’ and one Research Associate (RA) for four DAE-BRNS sponsored project entitled 

Project 1: Development of abiotic stress tolerant rice suitable for WB agro-climate with special emphasis to draught and P deficiency, under Dr S. Bhattacharyya, Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding (2 JRFs) 

Project 2: Radiation technology for shelf life extension of horticultural perishables, under Dr Ivi Chakraborty, Department of Post Harvest Technology of Hort. Crops (2 JRFs) 

Project 3: Nuclear-intervened molecular breeding and in vitro culture for increasing yield and phytomedicine production in bitter gourd (Momordica charantia), under Prof. P. Hazra, Department of Vegetables (1 JRF and 1 RA) 

Project 4: Increasing use efficiency of nitrogen fertilizers under different ecologies with varied cropping systems and management practices, under Dr P. K. Mani, Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science (2 JRFs) 

Minimum qualification: M.Sc. (Ag.) degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding or equivalent (Project 1), M.Sc. in Post harvest Technology/M.Sc. in Vegetables/M.Sc. in Horticulture/M.Sc. in Molecular Biology/M.Sc. in Plant Pathology/M.Sc. in Bio Technology or equivalent (Projects 2 and 3)/M.Sc. (Ag.) in Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science/M.Sc. (Ag.) in Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry (Project 4), etc. securing at least 55% marks in aggregate or OGPA 6.50 in 10.00 scale. 

Desirable: Research experience in the agricultural/horticultural field. 

Salary: Rs 16,000 per month for the 1st and 2nd year and Rs 18,000 per month for the following years. The post is purely temporary. The center reserves the right to fix suitable criteria for short listing of eligible candidates satisfying qualifications and experience. Only short-listed candidates will accordingly be called for interview.
