A Refresher Course on ‘Advanced Laboratory Techniques in Cell and Molecular Biology’ for graduate and postgraduate college/university teachers will be held at School of Life Sciences, Manipal University, Manipal for two weeks from 29 February to 12 March 2016. The objective of this Course is to improvise on teaching methodologies incorporating online teaching aids and also get familiar with advanced cell and molecular biology techniques. A variety of teaching methods such as lectures, discussion, laboratory work and interaction with renowned resource persons shall facilitate the learning process. The course will help the participants to gain and sharpen the skills and provides necessary knowledge to boost the confidence in handling modern instruments used in the field of advanced cell and molecular biology. The classes on theory/strategy behind them will train participants to enhance their teaching or research activities. Skills gained during this Course will effectively help fulfill their role as better teachers for undergraduate/postgraduate students and better researchers. The Course will consist of a daily lecture followed by extensive practical/ demonstration/hands-on training sessions.

Selected applicants will be intimated by e-mail around 15 January 2016. They will be paid the actual to and fro train fare not exceeding three-tier AC fare by the shortest route. Boarding and lodging in Manipal will also be taken care of by the host institution.
