A Walk in Interview for the two positions of Junior Research Fellows in ongoing ICMR and DST sponsored projects will be conducted on 24 rd June, 2016 in the conference room of Department of Biotechnology, JIIT, Noida-Sector-62 from 10.00 am onwards. Interested candidates should report between 9.30 am - 11.00 am. Details relevant to the project are as follows:

1) ICMR funded project entitled: “Development of inhibitors to target glyoxylate and methylcitrate cycles essential for persistence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis”; This is an ongoing project sanctioned till 12th April, 2018.

Essential qualifications: M. Tech. in Biotechnology / M.Sc or equivalent in any area of Life Sciences with at least 55% marks. Preference will be given to M.Tech, CSIR/UGC/NET JRF qualified candidates. However, Non-NET qualified candidates can also apply.

Job Description: Cloning and mutagenesis, recombinant protein purification, protein crystallization and structure determination, in vitro biochemical assays

2) DST funded project entitled: “Nanoparticles Based Amperometric Biosensor for detection of Thyroid Dysfunctioning”; This is an ongoing project valid till Nov. 4th 2016.

Essential Qualifications: Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology /Nanotechnology/Physics OR Graduate degree in professional courses with GATE qualified.

Preference will be given to CSIR / UGC/ JRF/NET qualified candidates. However, NonNET qualified candidates can also apply.

Job Description: This is an interdisciplinary project involving nanoparticles synthesis, transient expression of proteins in mammalian cell lines, protein purification and immobilization of biomolecules, biosensor development. Emoluments will be paid as per funding agency norms.

On the day of interview the candidates are requested to bring with them – (i) 3 copies of CV (ii) 3 passport size photographs (iii) Photostat copies of all testimonials/certificates. Selected candidate will be required to produce testimonials/certificates in original at the time of appointment. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates appearing for the walk in Interview.
