Australian Endeavour Scholarships
We are
looking for highly motivated and experienced bioinformatics researchers
interested in pursuing their PhDs through Australia Endeavour Scholarships. The
selected candidates will be supported by Queensland University of Technology,
Brisbane to prepare high-quality application to Endeavour Scholarships 2017
round (due 30 June).
Endeavour Scholarships
An ideal
candidate will have a Masters degree in bioinformatics, computer science,
science, engineering or a relevant quantitative field with demonstrated
aptitude to bioinformatics research. Strong and demonstrated programming skills
in at least one language (e.g., R, Python, Perl, Java) are essential. Previous
experience in analysis of NGS data or mass-spectrometry data is highly
desirable. Working knowledge of web programming and experience with the Unix
operating system is also strongly desirable.
Endeavour
Scholarships are highly competitive and PhD award are valued up to $272,000. Only
candidates with exceptional academic records are likely to be supported.
The
candidate will have the following credentials
1.
Bachelors and Masters from prestigious institutions (e.g. IITs)
2. Very high
GPA
3. Minimum 2
years demonstrated research experience in top tier institutions (e.g. Indian
Institute of Science)
4. Research
publications in international journals
5. Additional
attributes such as service to scientific community, organizing scientific
conferences, mentoring younger students (school) is desirable.
