W A L K – I N – I N T E R V I E W

for engaging Project Fellow & Project Assistant, on Contract The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for Walk-in-interview for engaging Project Fellow and Project Assistant for the Project entitled “Assessment and Monitoring of Climate Change Effects on Wildlife Species and Ecosystems for Developing Adaptation and Mitigation Strategies in the Indian Himalayan Region (NMSHE Project)” purely on contractual basis for a period of one year. The EQ, DQ and other details of the Project Fellow and Project Assistant is as provided below: 

1 Positions & Emoluments Project Fellow (1) (Birds) 

Rs. 25,000 (JPF) OR 28,000/- (SPF) + 20% HRA 

Duration One year (extendable up to July 2019) 

Essential Qualification(s) (EQ) Post Graduate Degree in Wildlife Sciences/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Environmental Sciences or Management/ Life Sciences/ Biodiversity and Conservation/ with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University. Candidates with two years field research experience will be considered for Senior Project Fellow (SPF). 

Desirable Qualification(s) (DQ) Experience/interest in field data collection on birds or work experience in the Himalayan region. Science writing and communication skills Task Description Field data collection on bird communities, impacts on birds due to anthropogenic and climate drivers. 

Age Limit Up to 28 years for JPF and up to 32 years for SPF. 

Age relaxation - The upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years as per Government of India rules. 

2 Positions & Emoluments Project Assistants: 03 (Three positions: 1- mammals, 1 bird/Herpetofauna, 1 insects) (on Contractual Basis – Rs. 8,000 + 20% HRA) 

Duration One year (extendable up to July 2019) 

Essential Qualification(s) (EQ) Post Graduate Degree (Life Sciences/ Forestry/ Environmental Sciences/ Sociology/ Economics /Computer Application) OR Graduate/Post Graduate Page 2 of 3 Degree in Professional Courses relevant to above subjects. 

Desirable Qualification(s) (DQ) Experience/interest in field data collection on mammals/ bird/ herpetofauna/ insects in the Himalayan region. Task Description Required to assist in field research at various locations in the Indian Himalayan Region and other project related activities at the institute. 

Age Limit Shall not be more than 28 Years on date of interview. Age relaxation: The upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years as per Government of India rules. 

Location of site Indian Himalayan Region Funding Agency DST Terms of Reference The fellowship tenure will be governed by the Institute’s rules and regulations 

General Conditions 

1. The candidate should report by 0930 hrs for scrutiny of documents on 6 th November, 2017 followed by an Interview on the same day at 1100 hrs. The Institute will not provide accommodation for candidates appearing for the interview. 
 2. Candidates should bring the duly filled-in application with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications research experience, along with certificate of extracurricular activities, date of birth, mark sheets of all examinations etc. All original documents/certificates must be produced at the time of registration for necessary verification. 
3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
