DBT project “Mechanism of Epileptogenesis in Young and Adult Brain – Role of NMDA Receptor Subtypes in Hippocampal Neurons and Astrocytes” (P.8094) 

Project Assistant 

Qualification (Essential) : M.Sc. in Lifesciences (Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Physiology, Biotechnology and Zoology etc.) 

Experience/Training/Skills (Desirable) : Skills in dissecting rodent brain/spinal cord and sectioning for electrophysiology/immunohistochemistry. Good knowledge in neurobiology Job description : The project investigates the role of NMDA receptors in epileptogensis in rat brain slices. After dissecting the rodent brain, electrophysiology recordings and immunohistochemistry to study the path ways involved in epileptogensis. 

Monthly emoluments : Rs. 12,000/-+20% HRA (Consolidated) with yearly addition of Rs.300/- if extended 

Age limit as on 30.11.2017 : 35 years

Duration : Initially for a period of one year or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier depending on the performance of the candidate, project duration and progress of the project

Those who fulfil the above requirements may report for a written test/ interview as per the above schedule along with bio-data and original certificates to prove age, qualifications, experience etc. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Candidates reporting after 9.00 am will NOT be considered for selection. Candidates already in service have to produce a No Objection Certificate from the present employer at the time of interview. Note : Depending on the number of candidates, a written test of a qualifying nature will be conducted for initial screening and only qualified candidates will be called for interview. Marks obtained in the written test, if conducted, will not be counted for final ranking.
