 RGCB has a robust research program in basic and translational disease biology research. We seek an outstanding scientist or clinician scientist to work in either human cardiovascular disease biology or human cancer pathogenesis and treatment response. 

 The applicant should hold an MD or PhD or equivalent degree and must have a demonstrated track record of excellent research productivity as evident from substantial peer-reviewed publications, the ability to perform cutting edge research and history of successful extramural funding and academic service. 

 The ideal applicant for Scientist G position in Human Cardiovascular Disease will have experience in Cardiovascular Development, Cardiovascular Genetics and Molecular mechanisms in heart disease. Areas of special interest include fundamental mechanisms regulating cardiovascular development and congenital defects including regulation of heart and blood vessel development, gene expression during cardiac development, cellular and molecular mechanisms of congenital malformations, molecular and signaling mechanisms behind angiogenesis, vascular remodeling, heart failure and regulation of cell surface receptors and associated second messenger systems. Candidates must have a track record of dealing with external research environments including interfacing with clinical cardiology centers. 

The ideal applicant for Scientist G position in in human cancer research will have experience in developing and executing translational research strategies, developing biomarker strategies, providing insight into novel ways to incorporate biomarkers into clinical designs to enable early understanding of emerging drug profiles, use of multiple cellular and genomic technology platforms to demonstrate target engagement and a track record of dealing with external research environments including interfacing with clinical oncology centers. 

 Significant institutional support including start-up funds and modern laboratory space and facilities will be provided. The successful candidate will also have ample opportunities to apply for additional support funds from a number of funding mechanisms administered by various agencies of Government of India and international agencies. 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills demonstrated in a team environment are essential. The position will require roughly 70% of time in leading translational and applied cancer research work and 30% management work.

Scientist G

MD or PhD or equivalent At least fifteen years post doctoral experience in human cardiovascular disease biology or human cancer research. 

Excellent track record in peer reviewed publications. Excellent track record in obtaining research funding. Experience in design and implementation of human studies. Developing and executing translational research strategies.
