About Workshop
The workshop is aimed to familiarize the participants with the integrated and interdisciplinary approaches required in the designing and development of bioprocess technology. Worldwide development of bio-based, environmentally benign technology is largely hampered by the lack of expertise having knowledge in the development, establishment, functioning and operation of bioprocessing industries. The course for the workshop is uniquely design to give knowledge intensive practical based training on bioprocess development.
Focus Areas
The course will be focused on the following areas:
Basics of bioprocess development (including screening of potential microorganisms, microbial growth kinetics and media handling)
Bioreactor designing
Basics of fermentation
Basics of Down-stream processing
Solid liquid separation
Cell disruption
Membrane Processes
Laboratory and Process Scale
Chromatography
Bioprocess scale up
Bioprocess integration and process economics
Regulatory aspects of fermentation based products/processes.
Lectures will be delivered by the experts from the academia and industries. The workshop will also focus on skill development by pertaining hands on training under the guidance of the experienced faculties and technicians.
