Applications are invited in prescribed format for the following post in contract in a purely
time bound research project undertaken in the Department of Biotechnology of the Institute.
1. Name of the Temporary Post: Research Associate (RA) -01 post
2. Title of the Research Project: “Design of a Microbial Fuel cell integrated Microbial
electrolytic cell reactor and study of its structural and
process parameters for economic production of biohydrogen
by electrohydrogenesis.”
3. Name of the Sponsoring Agency: Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India

4. Duration of the Appointment: Initially for 1 year with extension up to 3 years
depending solely on performance.
5. Duration of the Project: 03 Years
6. Job Description: Research related to the project work
7. Consolidated Monthly Fellowship: Rs. 38,000/- + 20% HRA
8. Essential Qualifications PhD in Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Biochemical
Engineering/ Chemical engineering/ Environmental
sciences or other relevant disciplines.
OR
Three years of research, design and development
experience after M.Tech/ME (first class) in
Biotechnology/ Biochemical engineering/ Chemical
Engineering/ Environmental sciences or all other
relevant disciplines with at least one research paper in
Science citation indexed (SCI) journal.
8. Desirable Qualifications Experience in Microbial electrochemical technology
(design and operation), handling of anaerobic
microorganisms,knowledge of statistical data analysis
and analytical instruments, preferably gas
chromatography.
