Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Research
Associate-II (RA-II) and one (Project Associate-I (PA-1) in the DBT project entitled “Deciphering the Role of
REPAT Proteins in the Insect Pest, Spodoptera litura as Effectors Targeting Host Immune Defenses During
Herbivory”, under the supervision of Dr. Jyothilakshmi Vadassery, Scientist, BRIC-NIPGR. The details of positions
are as under:
1) Research Associate-II (one post): Emoluments as per DST/SERB norms
Qualification: Candidates having Ph. D (doctoral) degree in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/Plant Science/Life
Science/Biotechnology or equivalent from recognized University and fulfilling the guidelines as per DST Office
Memorandum DST-OM number DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated 26/06/2023 are eligible to apply.
Desirable: The
candidate with experience in either effector biology/ plant-insect interaction studies/ biotic stress signaling and/or
plant immune signaling with publication in the field. The candidate must have at least one paper in a Science Citation
Indexed (SCI) indexed journal.
2) Project Associate-I (one post): Emoluments as per DST/SERB norms
Qualification: Candidates having Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/MVSc from a recognized
University or equivalent and fulfilling the guidelines as per DST-OM number SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated July 10,
2020 are eligible to apply. The upper age limit for the above post is 35 years.
Desirable: Candidate should have
completed their M.Sc. dissertation related to Plant Sciences/Plant Molecular Biology/Ecology.

The above positions are completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship amount for the
above position is as per DST/DBT norms and as sanctioned in the project. The initial appointment for the above
post will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier, and tenure of the post can be
curtailed/extended based on the assessment of the candidate's performance and the discretion of the Competent
Authority. BRIC-NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the
qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The
appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one-month notice by either side.
The applicants will have no
claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of BRIC-NIPGR.
