Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the following position in National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS) funded collaborative research project between Sikkim University (SU) and Himali Vikas Sansthan, West Sikkim (HVS): 

Title of the project: “Conservation Promotion and Intensification of Local crop landraces of germplasm for Livelihood of Organic Farmers in Sikkim”.

Junior Research Fellow: (JRF @ Rs.25,000/- + HRA 8% per month for first two years and RS.28,000/- + HRA 8% for third year subject to performance) 

First class Master Degree in Horticulture/ Seed Technology/ Plant Breeding with ASRBNET/ CSIR- NET Non-NET candidates can apply and will be considered as Junior Project Fellow (JPF). Fellowship for JPF will be as per the norms of Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India 

Project Assistant: Rs.12,000/- per month (consolidated) 04 Sikkim University (02) and HVS (02) 

Graduate Preferably in Life Science/ Agriculture/ Horticulture. 

Educational qualifications may be relaxed for candidates with prior experience related to project Field based positions in the project sites at ten different Blocks in Sikkim. Candidate acquainted with the local crops and germplasms with exposure to remote rural area are preferred. 

Duration: Initially for one year but extendable upto three years or up to the termination of project whichever is earlier, subject to annual performance review.
