Applications are invited for three posts of Scientist ‘B’ as detailed below in the National Institute
for Research in Tuberculosis, Chennai and National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis,
Epidemiology Unit of ICMR in Pay Level 10 of VII CPC (Pay Band PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 +
Grade Pay Rs. 5400/- (pre-revised VI CPC)) and other usual allowances as admissible as per
Government norms.
I. Scientist ‘B’ (Biochemistry) (1 post) (SC) (Reserved for PwD) (OH:OL)
Essential Qualification: 1st class Master’s degree in Biochemistry from a recognized university. Or 2nd class M.Sc. in Biochemistry + Ph.D in Biochemistry/Medical Biochemistry/ Pharmacology from a recognized University.
Desirable qualification:
(i) Doctorate in Biochemistry from a recognised University for candidates with first class M.Sc. in Biochemistry
(ii) Minimum two years of research experience in Biochemistry.
(iv) Knowledge on Clinical Pharmacology of anti-TB drugs & experience of working on HPLC instrument. (iii) Experience in writing research proposals.
Job Requirements: To write research proposals on biochemical and clinical pharmacological studies in TB, supervise laboratory activities, generate data and prepare manuscripts.
Notes: (i) Ph.D. in Biochemistry shall be treated equivalent to three years experience respectively. (ii) Candidates with Ph.D. will be preferred for direct recruitment.
