The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for Walk-in-interview for
engaging 03 Project Scientists and 04 Project Assistants for the Project entitled
“Assessment and Monitoring of Climate Change Effects on Wildlife Species and
Ecosystems for Developing Adaptation and Mitigation Strategies in the Indian
Himalayan Region” purely on contractual basis for a period of two months (likely to be
extended).

For Project Scientist (03 Positions):

Project Scientist - 03 positions (Terrestrial Ecology,
Aquatic Ecology, Spatial Ecology)
50,000/- + Allowances
2 Duration 02 months (up to August 2019) likely to be extended
3 Essential
Qualification(s) (EQ)
Post Graduate Degree in Wildlife Sciences/ Zoology/
Remote Sensing & GIS/ with a minimum of 60%
aggregate marks from a recognized University with
three years experience.
OR
Ph.D. in any of the above fields
4 Desirable
Qualification(s) (DQ)
Expertise / knowledge in terrestrial / aquatic
ecosystems, stream ecology, spatial analysis and
ecological modelling, climatic change analysis and
multiscale modelling. Experience in the Himalayan
region.
5 Task Description The position involves coordination of data analysis,
report writing, publications, based on various field and
lab activities under the NMSHE project. Conduct of
workshops and meetings.
6 Age Limit Up to 40 years.

9 Terms of Reference The fellowship tenure will be governed by the Institute’s

Post Graduate Degree in Biological Sciences

Qualification(s) (DQ)
Experience/interest in field /lab dealing with flora and
fauna, data entry, analysis, report compilation and
writing. Field experience in the Himalaya
5 Task Description Field data collection, data analysis, laboratory analysis,
report compilation and writing.
6 Age Limit Up to 35 years.
7 Location of site Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun and field sites in
the Indian Himalayan Region
8 Funding Agency DST
The candidate should report by 0930 hrs for scrutiny of documents on 01 July
2019 followed by an Interview on the same day at 1100 hrs. The Institute will not
provide accommodation for candidates appearing for the interview.
