About the Conference

The 2^nd National Conference on Big data and Machine learning in Biomedical and Health Informatics (BMBHI’19) organized by Faculty of Engineering, Department of Biotechnology, Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, Coimbatore. The basic scientific prototype is to understand and predict the relation between structural and function information of biological molecules. The massive research on DNA and protein molecules and advances in quantitative experimental technologies in biology provides an enormous sequence and structural information. The challenge remains unattainable to get meaningful information out of this vast range of data derived from a multitude of species.

BMBHI`19 conference will focus on the latest advances in creating and utilizing of Big data and Machine Learning technologies in the field of biomedical, health informatics and other related life science field. The role of big data analysis has evolved with exponential increase in informations related to genome sequencing, proteomics, metabolic studies, pharmaceutical compound combinations, and predictive disease diagnostics. Analysis of such huge volume of data speeds up discoveries in genetic research and its modifications, drug development, imaging, digital pathology, electrophysiological data, human microbiome, agriculture and environmental monitoring. Big data applications present new opportunities to discover new knowledge and create novel methods to improve the quality of health care and biomedical research.

Researchers, experts and students from the fields of engineering, medicine and biology are invited to share their knowledge and experience on the latest technological developments in the intersection of computer science, big data and life sciences. Challenges and technical solutions for the transformation big data into knowledge in order to gain realizable insights will also be discussed. The two day conference includes plenary sessions, invited talks, oral and poster presentations focusing on the applications of Big data in the fields of Biomedical engineering, Healthcare and other relevant domains.
