Applications are invited from interested and eligible candidates for POST DOCTORAL FELLOWS
in Zoological Survey of India in HQ, Kolkata and Regional Centres. The position is for a period of
one year and purely on temporary basis and will be terminated or renewed based on performance.
M.Sc. in Zoology/
Life
Sciences/Natural
Sciences
(Biotechnology/
Bio-Informatics/
Forensic Sciences)
and PhD or
equivalent degree
in Zoology/ Life
Sciences from a
recognized
University from
India and having 3
years of research/
teaching
experience
(duration of PhD to
be considered as
research
experience) in a
recognized
Institution/
University after
M.Sc. with at least
two (2) research
papers in Science
Citation Indexed
(SCI) journals.
Research
experience in
taxonomy,
systematics,
zoology or allied
subject
supported by
publications,
field survey
experience in
nature and
wildlife, wildlife
photography,
knowledge of
Computer, GIS
and basic field
data collection
and statistical
analysis,
experience of
molecular work
evident by
publications,
expexrience on
publication,
review and
editorial work

PDFs are expected to undertake extensive field surveys in the mountains, forests, wetlands and coastal and marine areas
of India and therefore, required to be physically fit to undertake research in terrain and hostile conditions. PDFs may be
require to survey in the Eco Sensitive Zones of India including North Eastern Regions, and will be posted in any regional
centres based on requirements. One PDF will be for taking care of DNA Laboratory of NRC, ZSI Dehradun and one for
Publication Divison of ZSI HQ, Kolkata, for assisting the PPO in routine publication and production of ZSI research
work.
