Indian nationals are invited for a Walk-In-Interview for temporary positions of Project Scientist
and Junior Project Scientist under the project “Centre for Interdisciplinary Sciences” at NISER.
The following posts are on short term contract basis up to 31st March 2020 (project duration) in
the initial phase, likely to be extended further depending on the fund status.

Details of Essential Qualification, Age and Experience:
Post Code-01: Project Scientist
Essential Qualifications& Experience:
(1) B.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry/Biology with 60% marks or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical
Engineering with 60% marks. The candidate should have at least 4 years of relevant experience
in handling vacuum components, hands on experience with equipments such as Raman
Spectroscopy/ Transmission Electron Microscopy/ FLIM with Confocal Microscopy/ Mass
Spectroscopy/ Super resolution Microscopy.
Age: Not more than 32 years as on the date of walk in interview.
Job Profile:
The selected candidates will help in the operation and maintenance of Raman spectrometer,
optical microscopes, transmission electron microscope, Atomic force microscope, super
resolution microscope, time-resolved fluorescence microscopy and other machines which will be
installed in Center for Interdisciplinary Sciences (CIS) at NISER. The candidate will also be
responsible for the smooth running of machines available at CIS. They will facilitate the users of
the equipments by performing related experiments. They are also expected to help in the
infrastructure development of the center housing these equipments.
Post Code-02: Junior Project Scientist
Essential Qualifications& Experience:
(1) B.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry/Biology with 60% marks.
Desirable: The candidate should have at least 1 year of hands on experience with equipments
such as Raman Spectroscopy/ Transmission Electron Microscopy/ FLIM with Confocal
Microscopy/ Mass Spectroscopy/ Super resolution Microscopy.
Age : Not more than 30 years as on the date of walk in interview.
Job Profile:
The selected candidates will help in the operation and maintenance of various equipments
available at Center for Interdisciplinary Sciences (CIS) at NISER. They will facilitate the users
of the equipment by performing related experiments. The candidates need to maintain the log
book of different equipment. They are also expected to help in the infrastructure development of
the center housing these equipment.
