A Walk-in interview for one position of Project Assistant, one position of Senior Research Fellow, two positions of Junior Research Fellow, one position of Young ProfessionalII, two positions of Young Professional-I under various projects will be held on 24-02-2020 at 11.AM in ICAR-National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics, Yelahanka, Bengaluru-560 064 and all the positions are co-terminus with the respective projects. Candidates are required to bring testimonials in original and one set of self-attested copies of testimonials in original and one set of self-attested copies of testimonials & one passport size color photo along with completed application form (which may be downloaded from the website – www.nivedi.res.in), at the time of interview. Registration will be done between 9.30 a.m. and 11.00 a.m. only. The details of Educational qualification, experience & remuneration are shown below: 

1 CDC project on “Countrywide Surveillance for Anthrax in Livestock and Mastitis in Cattle for Protecting and Improving Health Globally: Building and Strengthening Public Health Impact, System, Capacity” (Anthrax Component) 

Project Duration Upto 29.09.2020 

Project Assistant (One Position) 

BVSc OR Master degree/MSc in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Public health/ Biochemistry/ Statistics/ Life Science in any branch from recognized university with research experience in relevant subject 

1. Animal handling and clinical sample collection 
2. Interest in frequent travel to distant study areas 
3. Knowledge on basic Microbiological techniques/medicine/therapy 
4. Preference for person with laboratory working experience on Anthrax Good communication/Computer skills and spoken regional languages (Kannada/Hindi/Tamil/Telugu) 

Rs.25000/- Consolidated Per month 

35 years for men and 40 years for women as on the date of Advertisement 

2. Disease Burden quantification in small ruminants and impact of adopting preventive interventions on rural livestock farmers in Odisha (DST Project) 

Junior Research Fellow (One Position) 

Post-Graduation (PG) in Veterinary Sciences/ Agricultural Sciences/Fishery Sciences with NET qualification or with proof of selection process for UG/PG through national level examination conducted by central government departments and their agencies and institutions such as ICAR, DBT, DST, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc etc., 

1. Work Experience in Odisha 
2. Willing to travel to different locations in Odisha and anywhere in India to collect primary and secondary data, animal samples and to interact with various stakeholders 
3. Further, baseline data collection at different intervals, implementing the intervention strategies in the selected farms, communicating and co-ordination with various stakeholders. 

Rs.31,000 + HRA per month for first two years and Rs. 35000+HRA for third year

3. DBT-NER- ADMAC project entitled “Development of infectious disease information system (IDIS) and risk assessment models for trans-boundary animal disease (TAD) & other emerging livestock disease in NE region of India” 

Project Duration Upto 23rd April 2020 

Junior Research Fellow (One Position) 

MSc/M.Tech in life science with NET/GATE Qualifications/ Passed National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISC, IISER 

Experience in data analysis, minimum knowledge on statistical software. 

Rs. 31000/- plus HRA per month 

35 years for men and 40 years for women as on the date of Advertisement 

4. Immuno-epidemiological characterization of Pigs as an amplifying host of Japanese Encephalitis 

Senior Research Fellow (One Position) 

Post Graduate Degree in basic Science or Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course with NET/GATE Qualifications/ Passed National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISC, IISER With two years of research experience 

1. Laboratory experience in handling flow cytometer, 
2. Practical experience doing ELISA is desired 

Rs. 35000/- plus HRA per month

Note: Positions may increase or decrease depending upon the need of the Institute activities as well as increase or decrease of the Projects and its staff 

5. Institute Project (Bioinformatics) 

Young Professional-II (One position) 

Post graduates in Agricultural Science or graduate degree holders in engineering/technology/B.Tech in Bioinformatics/or its equivalent 

Rs. 25000/- per month Consolidated

6. Seroprevalence of Pets des petits ruminants (PPR) in sheep and goats in India 

Project Duration Upto 31.03.2020 

Young Professional-I (One position) 

Graduate in Agricultural Science or Diploma holder in engineering/technology/or its equivalent 

1. Hands on experience in performance and standardizing ELISA 
2. Knowledge in molecular techniques such as PCR, cloning expression, purification and serological techniques 
3. Experience in the handling of zoonotic pathogens (Leptospira) 

Rs. 15000/- per month Consolidated

7. Institute Project (Understanding the Carrier status of sheep and Goats with reference to Pasteurella multocida

Young Professional-I (One position) 

Graduate in Agricultural Science or Diploma holder in engineering/technology/or its equivalent 

1. Degree holder with experience in molecular techniques like PCR, SDS-PAGE etc while working in projects for minimum 2 years. 
2. Have some experience in Field survey and sample collections from animals.

8. Indo-UK Funded Project “Does antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in livestock contribute to AMR in people in North-East India? An interdisciplinary study investigating antibiotic use, drivers of AMR, and transmission dynamics”. 

Research Associate I 

PhD OR Master’s degree in Veterinary Extension/Dairy Extension/Animal Husbandry Extension/Veterinary preventive medicine/Veterinary Public Health & Epidemiology / Veterinary Epidemiology /Agricultural Economics/Dairy Economics/Livestock Economics/Agricultural Extension/Agricultural Extension Education/Agricultural Statistics Or Post Graduate degree in Professional course with the above field with 3 years research, teaching and design and development experience with at least 1 research papers in Science Citation Indexed (SCl) journal. 

1.Needed to co-ordinate the activities with the project staff located in four sites in (Guwahati, Assam) with the lead centre (ICAR-NIVEDI), Bangalore. 
2.The RA will co-ordinate with the Principal investigator, in conducting PRA/RRA and Rapid Ethnographic Assessment (REA) techniques, developing survey instrument, pilot testing, conducting main surveys/interviews in collaboration with the field SRF/JRF at different intervals in the project location. 
3.Further, involve in implementation of intervention strategies, collection of data on the impact interventions; data validation, feeding and analysis in consultation with PI of the project. 

Rs. 47,000 + 24% HRA per month 

40 years for Men, 45 years for Women
