Recruitment of

Junior Research Fellow – Call for Application

The Director, IIIT Una invites applications from the interested and eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work in the Australian High Commission (AHC) funded project “Development of nanomaterial immobilised enzymes system for the production of food-grade esters”, sanctioned under application No. AAGS-2020/82. The selected candidate has to join the project immediately.

Job Description: The JRF will perform R&D in the areas of Nanotechnology and Enzyme Biotechnology towards synthesis of food-grade value-added esters. The potential candidate will contribute his/her knowledge and skill in the synthesis and characterization of novel nanomaterials, and subsequent application for production of food-grade esters using nano-immobilized enzyme system. The product quantity will be evaluated using Gas Liquid Chromatography system.

Other activities will include project planning, chemicals procurement, managing, executing, and reports preparation.

Positions: 01/JRF

Duration: Initially for 1 year (May be extended subject to the performance).

Collaborators: IIIT Una, India and Australian Catholic University, NSW, Australia

Selection Criteria:

Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. (Biotechnology) / M.Tech. (Biotechnology/ Nanobiotechnology/ Biochemical Engineering) with Throughout First-Class Academic Record, including X and XII Standards.

Desirable: 

i) Candidate qualified through anyone of the National level examinations such as DBT JRF, CSIR-UGC-JRF, ICMR-JRF or an equivalent Independent fellowship.
ii) Knowledge and experience in the Nanotechnology (nanomaterial’s synthesis, and characterization) and Biotechnology (Enzymes assays and immobilization methods).
iii) Handling of sophisticated analytical instruments like Gas Liquid Chromatography.

Emoluments: 20,000-25,000/- per month depending on qualification and experience as per AHC guidelines.

1. The position is purely temporary.
2. Candidate selected for this position will be encouraged to register for PhD if he/she fulfills
the admission criteria of IIIT Una.
3. Original documents of age proof/degrees/mark sheets/experience must be presented at the time
of interview.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test and interview.
5. Applicants in employment (private, government or any other organization) are required to
submit a “No Objection Certificate” from the employer along with the application.
6. Upon receipt of the applications, the shortlisted candidates will be intimated through email,
about the date and time of written test/ interview.
