National Training Programs In Biological Electron Microscopy 2020-2021
Applications are invited for various training programs in biological electron microscopy to be conducted during 2020-2021 in Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation Facility-New Delhi, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi
The training course offers comprehensive laboratory training on the specimen preparation, ultramicrotomy, imaging and analysis techniques (e.g., Energy Dispersive X-Ray microanalysis of metals) related to scanning, transmission, cryo-transmission, and Immuno-electron microscopy. The course offers a unique curriculum of classroom lectures by experienced scientists, and hands on laboratory practical with an opportunity to discuss daily topics/problems with instructors in a relaxed atmosphere (see Indian J Biochem Biophys 57, 359-361, 2020, for detailed activities of the training held in 2019).
Eligibility: Ph.D/MD or M.Sc Degree in Life Sciences with 2-3 years of research experience after joining a PhD program. The applicant should state clearly the nature of the research project in which he/she is involved (in 200 words) and why training in Electron Microscopy is necessary for pursuing further research. This should be attested by the principal Investigator/Head of the Department.
2. Summer Training program in electron microscopy (May 17-June 16, 2021)
This 4-week course is specially designed to train the participants to be well- versed in specimen preparation, ultramicrotomy, operation, maintenance of TEM and SEM, and digital imaging.
Eligibility: Laboratory and Technical staffs, graduate and post graduate students, and scientists working in Govt. recognized Institutions/National laboratories/ EM laboratories.

Rs. 7500 for scientific investigators training program
Rs. 7500 for summer training program
NOTE: THE COURSE FEE DOES NOT INCLUDE LODGING DURING TRAINING. THE SELECTED CANDIDATES ARE ADVISED TO ARRANGE FOR BOARDING WELL-AHEAD OF THE TRAINING.
