CSMCRI Plant Sciences Project Walk INs


Applications are invited from talented and motivated candidates for working in recently sanctioned Grant in Aid Projects (2 No.).  

The title of the projects are:

  1. “Pre-feasibility studies and establishment of pilot scale farming of commercially valuable seaweeds in Andaman Coast” funded by Andaman Administration (4 Post of PA-I, 4 Post of FA) and,
  2. “Long term monitoring of coastal water to understand pollution and impact on coastal health” funded by INCOIS, MoES (1 Post of Field Assistant).  

The project have extensive fieldwork on seaweed cultivation/ environmental activities. The number of positions is tentative and may vary at the time of interview. The details of posts are as following:

Project Associate - I (PA- I)  : 4 Posts

Field Assistant (FA)               : 5 posts

Total No.                                 : 9 posts.

Nature of work:

  1. Seaweed cultivation  : 2 posts (PA - I), 2 posts (FA)
  2. EIA study                  : 2 posts (PA - I), 3 posts (FA)

Essential Qualification:

  • Seaweed cultivation

      (Project Associate I- 2 posts)

Post Graduate Degree in Botany/ Biotechnology/Environmental Science / Management studies / Marine Science/ Marine Biology/Microbiology/ Life Sciences/Marine Chemistry.

  • EIA study

           (Project Associate I- 2 posts)

:

Post Graduate Degree in Botany/ Biotechnology/ Zoology/ Environmental Sci. / Environmental Management/ Marine Science/ Marine Biology/ Fisheries (including M. F. Sc.)/ Microbiology/ Life Sciences/ Marine Chemistry.

Monthly remuneration 

(Project Associate - I)

:

  1. ₹. 31000/- PM consolidated, to scholar who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Test- CSIR-UGC NET, including lectureship or GATE or (b) A selection process through National Level Exam. Conducted by Central Govt. & their Agencies & Institutions,
  2. . 25000/- PM consolidated for others who do not fall under (i) above.
  • Seaweed cultivation

B.Sc. in Botany/ Zoology/ Environment Sci./ Chemistry/ Microbiology.

  • EIA study

₹. 20,000/- PM (Consolidated for Field Assistant)

Job requirement

:

  1. The project have extensive fieldwork on seaweed cultivation/ environmental activities. The selected candidate will have to work on above stated project in Andaman. Those who are willing to work in Andaman only need to apply (eight post under Andaman administration)
  2. The selected candidate will have to work on above stated project in Diu. Those who are willing to work in Diu only need to apply (one FA post under INCOIS, MoES).

Age limit

35 years* (For Project Associate- I),

50 years* (for Field Assistant)

 

 *Relaxation in age as per CSIR norms.

Applications received by mail will be scrutinize based on certain criteria and only such shortlisted candidates as are eligible as per criteria will be asked to attend the interview using the online mode. The details of the interview will be send to such candidates by e-mail. 

The online interview of the shortlisted candidates is schedule:

  1. On 15 October 2020 (Thursday) at 10:30 AM through Skype for “I. Seaweed cultivation” and

 

  1. On 16 October 2020 (Friday) at 10:30 AM through Skype for “II. EIA study”.
