Walk-in-Interview for Contractual Engagement of Technical Manpower for Wildlife Survey in the State of Haryana at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun 

The Wildlife Institute of India is an internationally acclaimed Institution, which offers training program for government and non-government personnel, academic courses and advisory in wildlife research and management. The Institute is actively engaged in research across the breadth of the country on biodiversity related issues. 

The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun invites application through interview for engaging technical manpower for the project titled “Wildlife Survey in the State of Haryana”. The period of engagement will be for a period of 10 months. The EQ, DQ and other details are as provided below: 

01 Principal Project Associate 

Essential Qualification (EQ): Master’s Degree in Wildlife Science/Natural Sciences/Life Science from a recognized University or equivalent and eight years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services or Doctoral Degree in relevant subject from recognized University with four years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services 

Desired Qualifications: Research experience in designing and implementing surveys for various wildlife species at landscape level. Knowledge of Distance Sampling, Camera Trapping, and other field related techniques.

02 Project Associate - 4

Essential Qualification (EQ): M. Sc in Life Sciences/ Wildlife Sciences/ Forestry/ Environmental Science/ Environmental Management from a recognized university. 

Experience in animal census. Working knowledge of line transects, distance sampling and camera trapping.

Description of the work: The objective of the project is to conduct Wildlife Survey in the State of Haryana for the year 2020 – 21. The job of the PPA is to coordinate the trainings and the implementation of the project. The PPA and PA – I shall coordinate wildlife census training with the forest department, shall impart trainings, help in data collection, analysis and report writing. 

Mode of Selection and other conditions: 

(1) The selection of the candidates will be in accordance with the performance in the interview and in order of merit as decided by the Interview Committee. All original documents should be produced at the time of interview. The decision of the Institute’s Committee in all matters relating to eligibility, work experience, acceptance or rejection of application will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained from any individual. 
(2) The candidates are required to submit their CV/bio-data along with copies of educational qualifications, experience and statement of purpose (Detailed description not less than 500 words about how their experience is relevant for the implementation of the project) to the Registrar, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun upto 1700 hrs. on or before 15.10.2020 by email registrar@wii.gov.in.

The applications received late will not be considered by the Institute. The applicant should mention name of the post applied in the subject. 
(3) The screened-in/shortlisted candidates will be called for personal interview. The interview will be held on 20th October 2020 from 1000 hrs. onwards. The short-listed candidates will be informed by email for attending the interview before 19th October 2020. The selection will be made on the basis of the interview scheduled on 20th October 2020. 
(4) At the time of verification of original documents, if it is found that an attempt has been made by the applicant to willfully conceal, misrepresent or canvass the facts, his/her candidature will not be considered. 
(5) The positions advertised are purely temporary/contractual for the project period only and will stand abolished after completion of the project. 
(6) The tenure in the project will be governed by the Institute’s rules andregulations 
(7) Relaxation in Age will be given as per Govt. of India norms 
(8) After announcement of the results, the candidate should join the project immediately. 
(9) Director WII, reserves the right to reject any candidature in view of incomplete information provided by the candidate or for any other reason thereof.
