The Institute invites applications from Indian nationals for the following position on contract basis:
Junior Research Fellow / Project Associate -1/ Project Assistant
Name of the project Biogeography of peninsular Indian birds
Description: This project aims to examine the biogeography of
peninsular Indian birds using field-collected blood samples from
various wild birds.
Project involves long durations of field work, while
working in tough conditions to capture and collect blood samples

Minimum
qualifications
Bachelors (or) Masters (or) equivalent degree with minimum 60%
marks or equivalent grade.
Experience conducting field work for
over 6 months.
Desirable:
Candidates having worked on birds, with mist-netting and bird
handling experience
Candidates with 4-wheeler driving experience.
Fellowship
JRF: Candidates who have qualified any of the national level
test like CSIR / UGC – NET / GATE etc. with valid score in
score card is eligible for remuneration of Rs. 31000/- + 8%
HRA per month (Consolidated).
Project Associate-1: Candidates who have completed their
Masters are eligible for remuneration of Rs. 31000/- + 8%
HRA per month (Consolidated)
Others will be eligible for Rs.20,000/- + 8% HRA per month or
as according to GoI norms, based on their academic
qualification.
Tenure The position is temporary for a period of nine months (or) coterminus with the project, whichever is earlier.
