NBPGR Delhi/Shimla Plant Molecular Biology Project Openings

, India Applications are invited to attend the Interview (in-person/ online through video conferencing) for the following posts in DBT funded network project “Characterization of Chickpea Germplasm Resource to Accelerate Genomics-assisted Crop Improvement” at NBPGR, New Delhi and NBPGR RS Shimla as mentioned below. Owing to the prevailing COVID-19 crisis, candidates may choose for interview either inperson or through online process.

After screening the applications, the eligible candidates will be informed for further details regarding interview by email or over phone. Original documents of the candidates appearing interview in-person will be verified on the interview date and for the candidates appearing online interview will be verified at a later stage.

Principle Project Associate (01) 

Rs 49000 + HRA 

Location: ICAR-NBPGR, New Delhi 

Essential qualification: 

(i) Master's Degree in Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/ Life Sciences or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology with specialization in bioinformatics from a recognized University or equivalent; and 
(ii) Eight years' experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services Or 
(i) Doctoral Degree in Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/ Life Sciences from a recognized University; and 
(ii) Four years' experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services 

Desirable Qualification

I. Experience in analyses of high throughput SNP genotyping, re-sequencing and transcriptomics data 
II. Publications in high impact journals 

Upper age limit: 40 years

Project Associate-I/ Junior Research Fellow (03) 

(i) Rs.31000 + HRA for scholars who are selected through 
(a) CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant professorship) or GATE. 
(b) A selection process through national level examination conducted by central government departments and their agencies and institutions. 

(ii)Rs 25,000/- + HRA for scholars who do not fall under (i) above.
(iii)From 3rd year onwards: 

Project Associate II/ Senior Research Fellow @ Rs 35,000 + HRA for scholars with qualification as in (i) and Rs 28,000/- + HRA for scholars as mentioned in (ii) above. 

Location: ICAR-NBPGR, New Delhi 

Essential qualification: Master’s degree in Biotechnology/ Genetics and Plant Breeding /Botany/Life sciences or 4/5 years of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university or equivalent. 

Desirable Qualification: Experience in analyses of biological data 

Upper age limit: 35 years

Project Associate-I/ Junior Research Fellow (01) 

(i) Rs.31000 + HRA for scholars who are selected through (a) CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant professorship) or GATE. Desirable Qualification: Having experience in plant tissue culture alongwith adequate knowledge of embryo rescue/ovule culture techniques Upper age limit: 35 years
