Applications are invited from dedicated and trained persons for three positions of
Consultant (Level-I), purely on contract basis, for manning the following Central
Instrumentation facilities using modern technology:
1. Flow Cytometric Analysis and Sorting System
Job Description: Operation, maintenance, calibration, and trouble shooting of cell
sorters and analyzers. High speed and single-cell sorting (2-way, 4-way, and 96-well
plates) and analysis (upto 16 parameters) of from various cells (human, mouse, and
primates). Management & scheduling of the Core Facility. Teaching and Training of new
users in the use of the Flow Cytometry equipments in the core facility. Assisting users
with data analysis options, advising on experimental design and data
analysis/interpretation. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in
operating cell sorters and associated software.
2. GC/MS -LC/MS System
Job Description - Maintenance and operation of LC/MS & MALDI-TOF machines, training
and helping users in experimental design, data acquisition, processing and analyses.
Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in instrument operation and
software based analysis.
3. Dual Wavelength X-Ray Generator
Job Description - Overseeing the operation and maintenance of the X-ray diffraction
facilities. Responsibilities involve maintaining dual wavelength rotating-anode X-ray
generators, detectors, liquid nitrogen cryosystems and related components. The
candidate will also be responsible for aligning the X-ray optics and providing day-to-day
maintenance. In addition, the candidate will be required to train users wishing to use
the equipment, supervise on data collection as well as data processing.
Preference will
be given to those possessing experience in macromolecular crystallography.
Qualifications & Experience:
1
st Class M.Sc./M.Tech with 10 years relevant experience
OR Ph.D. Preference will be given to candidates possessing experience in handling the
equipments.
Emoluments: Rs. 51,400/- to Rs. 89,950/- per month depending upon educational
qualification and experience.
Tenure of Engagement: Initially for one year which can be extended for further period
of one year as per the requirements of the Institute.
