Advertisement for Recruitment of Faculty Positions 

1. Indian Institute of Technology Indore is an Institute of National Importance established in 2009. In a short span of its existence for more than 11 years, IIT Indore has made its presence felt nationally and globally as an Institute of innovation, learning, teaching, and research which is reflected in continuous improvement in its national and international rankings. It is ranked 10th (under Engineering Institute category) by National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) of India for the year 2020. It has consistently secured the highest h-index amongst all new IITs. It has become the preferred choice for the best of the students, faculty members, and staff members. The Institute offers a conducive environment and infrastructure for learning centric education, research driven teaching, and innovation and application-oriented research. 2. IIT Indore invites applications from Indian Nationals and OCIs, who are well-qualified and strongly motivated for high quality teaching, research, and innovation. Following are the details of specializations & specific qualification requirements for different positions: 

Biosciences and Biomedical Engineering 

Assistant Professor Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Instrumentation, Non-invasive Biomedical Technologies, Tissue Engineering and Organ Development, Bioprocessing and Control 

Associate Professor Multiscale Modeling of Post translational Protein Modification (PTM), Molecular Dynamics Simulations of Glycans and Protein-glycan Complexes, Structure and Dynamics of Proteins and Nucleic Acids, Biomedical Sensing Devices, Host-pathogen Interaction in the context of Bacteria-Virusparasitic Co-infection, Neurodegeneration 

Professor Drug Discovery, Structural Biology, NMR Spectroscopy, Molecular Immunology 

3. Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirement. The qualification and experience required for various positions are enumerated in the subsequent paragraph. 

(a) Professor: The minimum requirements for the position of Professor are as follows: (i) Educational Qualification: Ph.D. with First class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in the mentioned area of specializations of the concerned Department/School with excellent academic records throughout and outstanding research output. (ii) Experience: Minimum ten years of post-PhD teaching and research or industrial experience or their combination, of which at least four-year experience should be at the level of Associate Professor in an IIT, IISc Bangalore, IISER, IIM, NITIE Mumbai or in any such Indian or foreign institutions of comparable or higher standards as ascertained by IIT Indore. Page 5 of 9 (iii) Other Requirements: Applicant should have demonstrated leadership in research in her/his area of specialization in terms of supervision of PhD and PG students, sponsored research and consultancy projects. He/ She should have very good quality research output in terms of grant of patents, authored books and/or book chapters, publications in high impact factor journals, highly reputed conference proceedings. The applicant is expected to have experience of development of laboratories and course curricula, experience of organizing TEQIP/QIP courses, GIAN courses, participated in schemes such as SPARC, UAY, KIT, IMPRINT and similar academic and outreach activities. The applicant should have hosted/collaborated with other internationally acclaimed academicians and should have organized conferences in his/her area of specialization and having acquired status of an internationally recognized expert, as is expected from Professor in any leading institution. 

(b) Associate Professor: The minimum requirements for the position of Associate Professor are as follows: (i) Educational Qualifications: Ph.D. with First class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in the mentioned area of specializations of the concerned Department/School with excellent academic records throughout and outstanding research output. (ii) Experience: Minimum six years of post-PhD teaching and research or industrial experience or their combination, of which at least three years experience should be at the level of Assistant Professor (Grade-I) / Senior Scientific Officer / Senior Design Engineer or equivalent. (iii) Other requirements: The applicant should have demonstrated her/his research leadership and output through supervision of PhD and PG students, handling of sponsored research and consultancy projects, grant of patents or good quality publications in high impact factor journals and highly reputed conferences, should have authored book or book chapters. The applicant is expected to have experience of development of laboratories and course curricula, experience of organizing TEQIP/QIP courses, and other academic and outreach activities. 

(c) Assistant Professor Grade-I: The minimum requirements for the position of Assistant Professor Grade-I are as follows: (i) Educational Qualifications: Ph.D. with First class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in the mentioned area of specializations of the concerned Department/School with excellent academic records throughout and outstanding research output. An applicant for an engineering department should have done at least BE/ BTech/ BS (Engineering) / Integrated MTech in the relevant department and preferably ME/ MTech/ MS / MS(Research) in the relevant specialization of the concerned department. (ii) Experience: Minimum three year of post-PhD teaching or research or industrial experience or their combination. Page 6 of 9 (d) Assistant Professor Grade-II: The minimum requirements for the position of Assistant Professor Grade-II are as follows: (i) Educational Qualifications: Ph.D. with First class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in mentioned area of specializations of the concerned Department/School with excellent academic records throughout and outstanding research output. An applicant for an engineering department should have done at least BE/ BTech/ BS (Engineering) / Integrated MTech in the relevant department and preferably ME/ MTech/ MS / MS(Research) in the relevant specialization of the concerned department. (ii) Age: Maximum 35 years as on the last date of submission of online application form. 

4. Pay Structure. The pay structure for various positions, as per 7th CPC, are as follows: Position Pay Level Min. 5. Facilities and Allowances. Other support/ allowances, in accordance with the Ministry of Education, provided are as follows: 
(a) Relocation Allowance: Reimbursement of relocation charges of up to ₹1,00,000/- for faculty members joining from abroad for reimbursement of air fare for self & spouse and cost of transportation of goods. Reimbursement of up to ₹75,000/- for self and family and transportation of goods for those joining from within India. (b) Accommodation Facility: On-campus Residence in the Institute will be provided to the employee in lieu of HRA subject to the availability. (c) Medical Facility: IIT Indore has well-equipped Institute Health Centre for its employees and their dependent family members. Also, Cashless Out-Patient Department (OPD) and In-Patient Department (IPD) medical facilities in the leading hospitals in Indore is available, in case same is not available at IITI Health Centre. (d) In-campus Education and Day care facility for Children: There is Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Nursery School and Day Care facility available in the Campus of IIT Indore. (e) Cumulative Professional Development Allowance (CPDA): CPDA of ₹3 lakhs for every block period of 3 years is provided for presenting papers at conferences Page 7 of 9 and towards membership fee of professional bodies and academic/research related contingency expenditure. (f) Children Education Allowance (CEA): Reimbursement of CEA will be applicable for claiming fee reimbursement of two eldest school going children i.e. for children from classes nursery to twelfth @ ₹2,250/- p.m. per child as per GOI norms. (g) Communication Charges: Reimbursement of communication charges will be done in accordance with the Institute/GOI rules. (h) Newspaper expenses: Reimbursement of the newspaper charges will be done in accordance with the Institute/GOI rules. (i) SBI Group Insurance Scheme: SBI Life-Sampoorna Suraksha Group Insurance Policy is optionally available for the Employee joining the Institute with ₹60 lakhs sum insured at a premium of around ₹920/- per month. 

6. Reservation and Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NC/PWD/ EWS applicants. Reservation and relaxation are applicable as per GOI rules for SC, ST, OBC-NC and Divyaang (i.e. PwD) applicants. The benefit of reservation under Economically Weaker Section (EWS) can be availed on producing an Income and Asset Certificate issued by authorized officials in prescribed format as per GOI norms. Necessary certificates must be enclosed with the application form. 

7. General Instructions. (a) Applicants who have applied against 2019 advertisement or earlier ones, need to apply afresh. Those who have sent earlier their application/CV through email must apply against this advertisement. (b) Applications received from applying through the online application portal will only be considered. (c) If applying for more than one position, then separate application must be submitted for each position. (d) Educational qualifications, experience, other requirements, and age limit mentioned in this advertisement will be reckoned as on last date of online submission of the application form. (e) Mere fulfilling of the eligibility criteria for any post in any Department/School will not entitle any applicant for being called for interview. (f) The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill any position in any of the above or any other specializations/Departments/School. (g) The Institute reserves its rights to set higher norms for short-listing for any position. (h) The received applications will be processed as per the Institute shortlisting criteria. Only the shortlisted applicant will be contacted through the email provided in her/his application form. (i) The applicants called for the interview in person will be required to carry all the original degrees and certificates, failure of which, would lead to disqualification of the candidature. (j) Applicants called for interview will be reimbursed to and fro airfare by economy class or II AC rail fare from the nearest city of their residence in India by the shortest route. Booking done from any other mode will not be admissible for the claim. (k) Applicants from abroad are interviewed through video conferencing and no reimbursement for travel for such applicants will be made. Applicants from abroad, but in India at time of Selection Committee meeting, must attend the interview in person, if called. (l) No interim correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from applicants regarding conduct and result of the selection process and reasons for not being called for interview or selection. (m) Applicants who are employed in Government, Semi-Government, Autonomous Body or Institution should send their applications through proper channel. They will be required to produce the No Objection Certificate from their employer at the time of interview. (n) Applicant is solely responsible for the correctness of the information provided in the application.
