PhD student position are available in the laboratory headed by Dr. Anil Kumar Verma, Assistant Professor at the Department of Microbiology, Sikkim University (https://cus.ac.in/index.php/en/department-of-microbiology-e/dr-anil-kumar-verma-e).
The laboratoy focuses on experimentally addressing fundamental problems in Carbohydrate Active Enzyme based degradation of Lignocellulose. Reseach lab works on the different aspect of industrially valuable microbial enzymes/ novel strain their structural-functional relationship, molecular cloning and site-directed mutagenesis for enhancing the efficiency. State-of-the art and advanced methodologies are applied in a helthy professional research environment.
Qualification requirements:
In order to meet the general entry requirements, the minimum requirements are the applicant must have completed their M.Sc. in Microbiology or related Field with minimum of 60% mark with JRF/LS NET from CSIR/UGC/DBT/DST or GATE being desirable. (Non-NET and GATE applicant having good research exposure also encourage to apply)
The qualification requirements must be met by the deadline for applications.
Selection:
The candidates will be accessed based on their knowledge in a relevant field of research, previous experience/dissertation and grades, candidate’s written test (for non-NET and non-GATE applicant) and personal interviews.
