Applications are invited for the Post of one JRF in the DBT sponsored project entitled- Deployment and piloting of improved indigenous fermented food product, Chubitchi and Tungrymbai for the sustainable livelihood in Meghalaya, Northeast India, at Department of RDAP, North-Eastern Hill University, Tura Campus, Tura-794002, Meghalaya. 

The Post is purely temporary and terminable at any time without prior notice or assigning any reason thereof. The person engaged, shall not be entitled for any claim implicit or explicit for permanent absorption in the University. The Principal Investigator reserves the right to add/delete/modify or cancel the advertisement. 

Qualification and experience: Junior/Senior Research Fellow: M.Sc. / M.Tech in Dairy Microbiology/Microbiology/Food Microbiology/Food Biotechnology from a recognized University/ institute. 

Preference will be given to those who have qualified NET and have the minimum 3 years work experience in similar field.

Duties: Collection of fermented food samples from different areas of Meghalaya, isolation, characterization and evaluation of probiotic potential of Lactic acid bacteria. 

Maintenance and formulation of well characterized Lactobacillus and yeast and self-stable DVS cultures.QA/QC evaluation of fermented food products. 

Handling of microbiological tools and techniques, day to day laboratory work including writing report and scientific papers. 

Pay: As per DBT Norms. 

Tenure: One year or until the termination of the project whichever earlier.
