Senior Research Fellow
We invite applications for Senior Research Fellow for a research project titled ‘Investigating the role of physical forces during Hydra regeneration’.
This Project is funded by the Core Research Grant of the Science and Engineering Research Board.
You will work on studying early pattern formation in Hydra vulgaris by studying effective physical forces emerging from the interaction of molecular players such as cytoskeletal proteins, and morphogen signals. The project has come out of a close interdisciplinary collaboration between biology and physics.
You will work in a multi-disciplinary area, making quantitative measurements using different techniques including microscopy, cell-based assays and molecular biology. You may also be involved in computational modelling of this system.
You will be appointed initially for one year which may be extended based on progress and performance.
- MSc/BE/BTech and at least two years of post-qualification experience
- Research experience with a strong interest in working on a project that combines theory and experiment
- Wet lab experience is required, and basic programming skills are desirable
Please email the following documents to biologyfellow@apu.edu.in with the subject line ‘Application for SRF position’
- Curriculum Vitae
- A covering letter stating why you are interested in the position
- Names and contact details of two references
