BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY 

Applications are invited for ONE post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) with a fellowship amount of Rs. 31,000+HRA 16% in a DST-SERB research project entitled "Methane oxidation potential and associated methanotrophic bacterial community of tropical moist deciduous forest and grassland soils of Terai ecozone." [BHU Code: P-07/1252] funded under core research programme, sanctioned up to a duration of three years. 

The post is temporary and co-terminus with the project. 

The candidates should be M.Sc. Botany/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Life Science with minimum 55% marks and must have qualified CSIR-UGC NET/GATE/National level examinations conducted by DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc. 

The upper Age Limit is 28 years (relaxable upto 3 years for OBC candidates; 5 years for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates). All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GOI rules. 

Desirable qualifications: The candidate should have practical knowledge in the area of microbiology, molecular biology and bioin formatics. 

Preference will be given to those candidates who have experience in forest microbial ecology.
