An Online Interview for the engagement of a Junior Research Fellow (on contract basis) for a Research
Project in the School of Biotechnology, NIT Calicut is scheduled to be held on 16.03.2022.
Duration of Engagement : One Year (on contract basis) and may be further extended based on the
performance of the candidate and availability of the project fund.
Name of the sponsoring Agency : Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Govt. of India.
Name of Project : "Cathepsin-S as a novel direct drug target for preventing barrier and tissue
destructive proinflammatory IL- 1 beta signaling in primary, vascular
endothelium an in vitro study"
Qualifications : Master Degree in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Life Sciences with
an aggregate minimum of 60% marks (average of all semesters) or
CGPA/CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent, with
Valid GATE/NET score.
Age limit : 28 Years as on 12.03.2022 (relaxation based on GOI rules)
Consolidated monthly pay : Rs. 31,000/- (Rupees thirty one thousand only) per month (consolidated)
How to Apply:
1. Candidates have to send an application form in the prescribed format (annexed) as e-mail to
hodbiotech@nitc.ac.in with subject “Application for JRF: SERB-SoBT/TS”. The self attested copy of all
the relevant certificates/document proofs scanned and merged as a single PDF file also has to be sent
along with the application form. The interview will be conducted online and the date of which will be
informed to the selected candidates through their e-mail.
The applicant will be responsible for the authenticity of information, other documents and photographs
submitted.
2. The Institute reserves the right to relax qualification and experience for the candidates with exceptional
credentials.
3. Applicants who are employed in government or any other organizations are required to send a “No
Objection Certificate” from the employer, if selected for the interview.
4. Last date to receive the submission of online application: 12.03.2022 at 4.00pm
