Engagement of Project Personnel for the Project “Causes and Remedies for Man and Animal Conflict in Uttar Pradesh” 

WALK- IN / ON LINE INTERVIEW 

The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for engagement of the following Project Personnel in the Project “Causes and Remedies for Man and Animal Conflict in Uttar Pradesh”purely on contractual basis for a period of 6 months. The project proposes to carryout investigations on the causes of HumanWildlife Conflicts in Uttar Pradesh, including compilation of conflict report, mapping of conflict hotspot, review of mitigation measures being implemented in the state, and other associated aspects. The EQ, DQ and other details of the Project Personnel are listed below: 

1 Engagement Position Project Scientist– I (01 position) 

2 Essential Qualification (EQ) Doctoral degree in Wildlife Science/ Ecology / Forestry / Environmental Sciences/ Life Sciences 

3 Desirable Qualification (DQ) Research experience in projects dealing with HumanWildlife Conflict, Population ecology, animal behaviour, analytical and writing skills as demonstrated by research publications / reports 

4 Work description Conduct and Coordinate field investigations on HumanWildlife Conflicts in Uttar Pradesh, including compilation of conflict reports, secondary data, use of RS & GIS, risk modelling, mapping of conflict hotspot, review of mitigation measures being implemented in the state, and other associated aspects as per the directions of the supervising faculty in close coordination with the forest department and the team members. 

5 Duration 6 months 

6 Location of Project sites HQ and field sites in Uttar Pradesh 

7 Age Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories may be relaxed as per the rules. 

8 Emoluments Rs56,000/- month + HRA as admissible 

1 Engagement Position Project Associate– I (04 positions) 

2 Essential Qualification (EQ) M.Sc in Wildlife Science /Ecology/ Zoology/ Forestry / Environment Science / Life Sciences 

3 Desirable Qualification (DQ) Knowledge /research experience on Human-Wildlife Conflict, Population ecology, and animal behaviour, Knowledge/experience in the use of RS & GIS, database maintenance, data analysis and report writing 

4 Work description Conduct field investigations on Human- Wildlife Conflicts in Uttar Pradesh, including compilation of conflict reports, secondary data, mapping of conflict hotspot, review of mitigation measures being implemented in the state, and other associated aspects as per the directions of the supervising faculty in close coordination with the forest department. 

5 Duration 6 months 

6 Location of Project sites HQ and field sites in Uttar Pradesh 

7 Age Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories may be relaxed as per the rules. 

8 Emoluments Rs 31,000/- month + HRA as admissible 

1 Engagement Position Project Assistant (02 positions) 

2 Essential Qualification (EQ) Graduate degree in Science 

3 Desirable Qualification (DQ) Research experience, knowledge / experience in computers 

4 Work description Data collection, entry, database maintenance, retrieval, assistance in data curation / field consultations, office assistance 

5 Duration 6 months 

6 Location of Project sites HQ & Field sites in Uttar Pradesh 

7 Age Not exceeding 50 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories may be relaxed as per the rules. 

8 Emoluments Rs20,000/- month + HRA as admissible
