Educational Qualifications:
1. Junior Project Assistant
Job Description: The candidate will assist in collection/compilation of data relating to objectives,
deliverables, sanction/release/utilization of funds, progress reports and resulting
publications/patents/softwares/databases for projects funded by DBT in the area of Theoretical and
Computational Biology. The candidate will coordinate with IT team for development of dashboards and
portals.
Essential Qualifications:
i) Graduate Degree OR Diploma (three years)
ii) Knowledge of Office Procedures, noting, drafting etc. and dealing with correspondence.
iii) Should have one year experience in one or more of the following:
A) Knowledge of computers.
B) Work connected with meetings, conference, Co-ordination.
C)
Maintenance of accounts, priced stores ledgers, processing of bills
D) Stores & Purchase Procedure.
E)
Admissions & conduct of examinations
F) Est. & Admin.
Matters
Desirable: Relevant work experience in scientific project management the area of
Bioinformatics/Information Technology/Biotechnology is highly desirable and will be major criteria.
Emoluments: Rs 21700/- consolidated p.m. plus 24% HRA (As per funding agency norms)
2. Senior Project Assistant (Technical)
Job Description: The candidate will develop powerful GUI based data analytics tools for data relating to
objectives, deliverables, sanction/release/utilization of funds, progress reports and resulting
publications/patents/software/databases for projects funded by DBT in the area of Theoretical and
Computational Biology.
Benchmarking of various publication bioinformatics, computational biology, NGS data analysis and
molecular simulation software and standardization of optimum resource requirement will be a major task.
The candidate will also coordinate with data compilation team and IT team for development of
dashboards and portals.
Essential Qualifications: B. Tech./ B.E./AMIE and equivalent OR Technical Diploma (3 years duration)
in Computers/IT with 5 years relevant work experience OR Graduate Degree in
biological/physical/chemical sciences with 5 years relevant work experience.
Desirable: Relevant work experience must be in scientific data analysis and software development in
research projects in the areas of Computational Biology/Structural Biology/Bioinformatics/Information
Technology/Biotechnology.
Strong analytical/quantitative skills and experience in usage/development of bioinformatics software is
highly desirable.
Emoluments: Rs 35,400/- consolidated p.m. plus 24% HRA (As per funding agency norms)
3. Senior Project Engineer/Scientist
Job Description: The candidate will be the lead person for the development of Data and Impact analysis
web portal frontend and backend database/script development. Must have excellent programming skills in
LINUX environment using open source resources. Must be familiar with public domain dashboard tools
and Application Program Interface (API) tools.
The candidate should have a good understanding of the
methods for organization and representation of scientific data. The candidate will also coordinate with
data compilation team and data analytics for development of dashboards and portals.
Essential Qualifications: M. Tech. 1st class or equivalent in the Computer Science /Computer
Engineering /Information Technology /Electronics & Communication Engineering
/Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/ Data Science /Machine Learning with very good
programming/IT skills
OR
B. Tech. 1st Class in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Technology/Electronics &
Communication Engineering/Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Data Science/Machine Learning
with 3 years experience & very good programming/IT skills.
OR
M. Sc. 1st Class Computer Applications/IT/Physical Sciences/Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Data
Science/Machine learning equivalent with 3 years experience & very good programming/IT skills.
Desirable: Relevant work experience must be in development of software/database or web portal which
are live and being accessed by many users. The candidate must have excellent programming skills in a
modern programming language like Python, JAVA, Node.js, PHP etc. The candidate must have
experience in design, development and deployment of web portals using HTML5,
Javascript/Jquery/React.js, Bootstrap, CSS etc; data base development/administration using technologies
like Postgres, MS-SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, (SQL/NoSQL based DB tools) etc;
installation/configuration of Apache/Tomcat/Nginx etc. In additional knowledge of LINUX system
administration and content management tools like Drupal, Joomla etc will be a plus point.
Emoluments: Rs 45,000/- consolidated p.m. plus 24% HRA (As per funding agency norms)
eneral Terms & Conditions:
1. The candidates selected for the above posts will be on contract for one year or duration of the
project whichever is shorter, at a time.
2. Hostel/ housing facility will be provided for female candidates.
3. Applicants may clearly mention the category they belong to i.e. SC/ST/OBC/PH and attach
documentary proof of the same.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, if called for.
5. Apart from sending application in the prescribed format given below, candidates should send
complete Curriculum Vitae along with the names of three referees. Curriculum Vitae should
contain details of the experimental expertise and list of publications.
6. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
