Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the post of Assistant Professor
on contract basis for a period of 11 months in the Department of Computational
Biology & Bioinformatics, Kariavattom.
The Qualification, remuneration etc fixed for the post are as shown below.
1. Post : Assistant Professor (on contract basis)
2. Qualifications:
(i) A Ph.D degree in Computational Biology & Bioinformatics/ Ph.D degree
in Bioinformatics from University of Kerala or a degree recognized as
equivalent thereto. Exemption for PhD holders from NET/SLET/SET shall
be as per relevant provision of University Grants Commission, with at least
55% marks (or equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is
followed) at the Master's Degree level.
OR
(ii) NET (National Eligibility Test conducted by the UGC, CSIR of similar test
accredited by UGC like SLET) holders in Life Science / Computer Science or
allied areas and having a good academic record with at least 55% marks (or
equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the
Master's Degree level in MSc Bioinformatics / MSc Computational Biology from
University of Kerala or a degree recognized as equivalent thereto.
NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines
for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
OR
(iii) NET (National Eligibility Test conducted by the UGC, CSIR of similar test
accredited by UGC like SLET) holders in Life Science / Computer Science /
Mathematical Sciences / Chemical Sciences / Engineering / allied areas and
having a good academic record with a Master's Degree from University of
Kerala or a degree recognized as equivalent thereto, with at least 55% marks
(or equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the
Master's Degree level in any of the following
1. MCA
2. MTech (Computer Science / Biotechnology / Bioinformatics /
Electronics / Electronics & Communication [Optoelectronics & Optical
Communication] / Technology Management)
3. MSc (Computer Science / Zoology / Botony / Biochemistry /
Microbiology / Biotechnology / Maths / Aquatic Biology / Information
Technology / Physics / Chemistry / Statistics / Electronics )
AND
(a) With MPhil in Bioinformatics with 'A' grade from University of Kerala or a degree
recognized as equivalent thereto or
(b) MPhil in Computer Aided Drug Design with 'A' grade from University of Kerala or
a degree recognized as equivalent thereto or
(c) MPhil in Computational Biology with 'A' grade from University of Kerala or a
degree recognized as equivalent thereto.
3. Age:
Not more than 45 years as on 01.01.2022 (Usual relaxation in the upper age limit as
per rules shall be allowed).
4. Remuneration: Consolidated amount of Rs. 40,000/- (Rupees Forty Thousand
only) per month

Eligible candidates should appear for the interview on 20.06.2022 at 08.00 A.M with
originals of Certificates/documents(age, community, qualifications, experience including
mark lists/ Publications/ seminars) in original.
Eligibility Certificate/Equivalency Certificate issued by the University of Kerala
regarding qualifying degrees issued by other Universities,(if applicable) should
also be produced.
In the event of failure to produce the necessary documents as specified, you will not be
permitted to attend the interview.
