ADVERTISEMENT FOR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (RA-III) - STRUCTURAL BIOLOGY.
Project title: Elucidating the Structural and Functional characterization of Membrane and
Envelope protein from SARS-CoV-2 and its variants in Virus-like Particles formation and its role
in the virus assembly and release.
Educational Qualifications & Experience:
Ph.D in Biological Sciences/Biotechnology with experience in Virology/ Molecular Biology with
at least one research paper published in Sci/ published in Scopus/ Web of Science listed journal
(OR) Having 03 years of research and development experience in the relevant field after Master
degree. At least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal is mandatory.
Job description:
• Perform cloning, protein expression and purification of viral structural proteins
• Support and enable large-scale protein purifications in quality and quantity suitable for X-ray
crystallography
• Produce and purify isotope-labelled protein for NMR
• Crystallization of protein-protein complexes.
• Regular data analysis, project updates, literature surveys and presentations on the target(s)
• Participate in the project team meeting and contribute to the projects intellectually.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team and maintenance of good laboratory practices in the work
environment.
• This project includes travelling and working at collaborative institute - Sathyabama Institute of
Science and Technology, Chennai.
Pay Scale:
Rs. 54,000 /- per month plus 27% HRA. The project is funded for 3 years only. Initially, this
position is available for the first year and can be further extended based on performance. This
position is purely on temporary and consolidated basis.
