Advertisement for the post of Senior Research Fellow
Applications are invited for the post of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) to work on ICAR-NASF funded
research project entitled “CRISPR Crop Network: Targeted improvement of stress tolerance,
nutritional quality and yield of crops by using genome editing” for three years. Initial appointment
of the suitable candidate would be for one year and renewable upon satisfactory performance of the
candidate. The position is temporary and co-terminus with the NASF scheme with the project duration
(3 years) or end of the project whichever is earlier.
The engagement in the project along the tenure is
purely on contract basis subject to satisfactory performance.
Details of qualifications, emolument and duration of the project:
Essential Qualifications: Master’s degree in Plant Physiology/ Plant
Biotechnology/ Plant Biochemistry/ Plant Molecular Biology/ Botany/
Genetics/ Genomics/ Biotechnology or in relevant subjects.
The candidates must have qualified UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET/GATE or
equivalent OR Ph.D. in any of the above discipline.

Desirable qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates having prior
experience in Agrobacterium mediate genetic transformation of mustard,
particle gun mediated transformation of plants, genome editing of plants,
molecular cloning, Molecular analysis of transgenic plants.
Work
-Development of genome edited lines
-Molecular characterization of genome edited lines
-Phenotypic and physiological evaluation of genome edited lines
Age Limit Maximum 35 years for men. For women/SC/ST/OBC, an age relaxation of 5
years will be given as per Govt. of India/ICAR rules.
Duration 3 Years (Initially for six months and further extension subjected to
satisfactory progress made by the incumbent)
Fellowship As per ICAR rule: Rs. 31,000/- +HRA per month for 1st. & 2nd year
followed by Rs. 35000/ HRA per month for 3rd Year
