The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune is a premier
institute dedicated to research and teaching in the basic sciences. It was established in
2006 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (renamed as Ministry of
Education in August 2020). In 2012, IISER Pune was declared as an Institute of National
Importance by an Act of Parliament.
Institute invites applications from Indian nationals for the following post purely on
temporary and contractual basis:
Name of the Post / Project Associate-I
Project “Mechanism of chromosome mis-segregation due to
meiotic recombination at centromeres”.
Department of Biotechnology (DBT)
Minimum educational
Qualification
M.Sc. / B.Tech. in Life sciences / Biotechnology
with minimum 70% marks / equivalent grade.
If needed, additional percentage cut-off will be
applied during the screening process.
Preference Candidates having following will be
preferred -
1. Prior experience in molecular, cell biology /
biochemistry techniques
2. Previous work experience in bioinformatics and
/ or working with yeasts.
Job
requirement Incumbent is
expected to do following:
Help generate complex yeast genotypes and assist
in their screening
Perform fluorescence microscopy-based
experiments
Help generating mutant libraries and screening for
phenotypes relevant to chromosomal segregation
Getting involved in work related to bioinformatics
and cell biology.
Tenure
of the appointment Initially for a period of one year extendable for
further period subject to continuation of the project
and satisfactory performance of the incumbent.
Consolidated emoluments
per month
A) Rs. 25,000/- + 24% (House
Rent Allowance)
B) Rs. 31,000/- + 24% (House
Rent Allowance)
Applicant should have valid CSIR-NET (Life
Sciences) / GATE (Life Sciences) / CSIR-JRF
/ DBT-JRF / any other National Level Test
conducted by Central Government Departments
and their agencies OR equivalent scorecard.
