Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of
Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from Indian
Nationals for the appointment of the following position.
Name of position: Junior Research Fellow (02 positions)
PI: Dr. Amaresh Panda
Project 1: “Analysis of the impact of mRNA-mRNA/circRNA interactions in pancreatic β-cell
physiology” (Funded by Wellcome Trust/DBT India Alliance)
Project 2: Exploring the protein-coding functions of circular RNAs in skeletal muscle cell
differentiation (Funded by SERB)
Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/- + HRA
Eligibility & Selection:
Candidates having M.Sc. or an equivalent qualification in Life Sciences or allied subjects such as
Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Microbiology with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade point
(50% for OBC/ST/SC) are eligible to apply.
Candidates should have also qualified NET-JRF/NETLS/GATE/GPAT/BET. Candidate with knowledge and experience in bioinformatics analysis or cell culture
or molecular biology techniques will be preferred.
Age Limit:
The candidate should be below 28 years in age, as on 21.07.2023. Age relaxation will be given to the
candidates as per Govt. of India rules.
Selection will be carried out through application screening, followed by an online interview process.

(www.ils.res.in), with all necessary documents uploaded, such as copies of mark sheets, educational
certificates, experience certificates, NET/GATE certificate etc. Incomplete applications and applications
without the above-mentioned documents will be rejected.
The selected candidates will not have any right to claim explicit or implicit for any post in the Institute of
Life Sciences. The list of shortlisted candidates will be displayed on the ILS website and intimated over
email. The decision of the institute regarding the selection of the candidates will be final and no
correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The decision of the Director regarding the selection of
candidates will be final and no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
