CALL FOR JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW FOR A SERB (CRG) SPONSORED PROJECT

Applications are invited from suitable
candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (1 vacancy) to work on the following project
sponsored by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Govt. of India,
under the Core Research Grant (CRG) scheme, under the supervision of Dr. Sridev
Mohapatra, Department of Biological Sciences, BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad campus.
Title of the project: Probing into the molecular mechanisms of “conditional pathogenesis”- a phenomenon where beneficial soil microbes turn pathogenic to plants, under adverse environmental conditions.
Duration of the project 3 years
Fellowship amount:
NET/GATE qualified candidates: Rs. 31,000 + HRA (as applicable) per month for first two years and Rs. 35,000 + HRA (as applicable) per month for the third year. Without NET/GATE qualification: Rs. 25,000 per month + HRA (as applicable) for first two years and Rs. 28,000 + HRA (as applicable) per month for the third year.
Fellowship amount may be revised based on the latest Ministry of Science and Technology office memorandum, subject to the approval of the SERB.
Eligibility requirements M.Sc./M.Tech./B.Tech. or equivalent degree in biotechnology, life-sciences, biochemistry, plant biology, microbiology, molecular biology or a related discipline with at least 60% marks. Candidate with NET/GATE qualification will be preferred. Hands-on experience in basic molecular biology techniques is desirable.
Age limit- as per SERB norms.
