The National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) is an autonomous institution of Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, for a mandate of basic research, teaching & training, and as a national repository for cell lines/hybridomas etc. The Centre is located in the midst of academically enriched environment of Savitribai Phule Pune University Campus, Pune. NCCS invites applications for following posts on various extramural projects purely on temporary basis.

Sr. No.: 01 Name of the Post: Research Associate - I 

Name of the Project: Precision Antibodies Engineering Centre (PACE). 

Name of the PI: Dr. Akanksha Chaturvedi 

Essential Qualification & Experience: Ph. D/MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after MVSc/M.Pharm/ME/M.Tech with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal. 

Desirable Experience: Experience in Molecular Biology and Animal handling is needed. Highly motivated individual to work in high pace work. 

Project Tenure: Up to 02.03.2027 

Total Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 47,000/- + HRA 

Age limit: Not more than 40 years as on last date of application. 

Sr. No.: 02 Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Senior Research Fellow (SRF) 

Name of the Project: Elucidation of the role of long noncoding RNA-Ginir as a biomarker in lung tumorigenesis. 

Name of the PI: Dr. Manas Santra 

Essential Qualification & Experience: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science or Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following A. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and/or GATE. B. The selection process through National Level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc. 

Desirable Experience: Experience in tissue culture, long noncoding RNA, western blotting, molecular cloning, protein purification. 

Project Tenure: Up to 18.08.2024 

Total Monthly Emoluments: *For JRF: Rs. 31000/- + HRA for those who meet the essential qualifications. 

**For SRF: Rs. 35000 /- + HRA for those who meet the above essential qualifications & should have 2 years of research experience. Age limit: 

*JRF: Not more than 28 years as on last date of application. 

**SRF: Not more than 32 years as on last date of application. 

03 Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Senior Research Fellow (SRF) 

Name of the Project: Identification and characterization of downstream effector proteins for Gao, the major neural G protein in brain tissue. 

Name of the PI: Dr. Santosh Kumar 

Essential Qualification & Experience: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science or Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following A. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and/or GATE. B. The selection process through National Level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc. 

Desirable Experience: Candidates with prior experience in C. elegans genetics and cell biology will be given preference. 

Project Tenure: Up to 19.12.2024 

TotalMonthly Emoluments: *For JRF: Rs. 31000/- + HRA for those who meet the essential qualifications. **For SRF: Rs. 35000 /- + HRA for those who meet the above essential qualifications & should have 2 years of research experience.
