Applications are invited for a post in ICMR funded Project entitled: "Development of Plasmonic Nano-sensor for Detection of AGE in Diabetic Patient Samples”, at School of Biotechnology, JNU. The selected candidate will be appointed for one year extendable to the duration of the project.

Position: Project Assistant (01 post)

Essential Qualifications & Experience: Candidate must have B.Sc. or higher degree (with minimum 55% marks) or higher in Life Sciences/Biotechnology or any related field.

Desirable: Experience in nanotechnology.

Salary: Rs. 30,000 /- per month (consolidated)

Appointment will be purely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project.

Applications are invited for a post of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a SERB (Science & Engineering Research Board) funded Project entitled: "Engineering SbERF37 and SbERF100 expression for yield optimization under constrained environmental conditions in Sorghum” at School of Biotechnology, JNU. The selected candidate will be appointed purely on temporary basis, initially for one year as JRF that may be extended to another year based on the performance.

Position: Junior Research Fellow (1)

Essential Qualifications & Experience: Candidate must have Masters degree (with minimum 60% marks or higher) in Plant Sciences/Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Biochemistry/ bioinformatics with CSIR-UGC NET (Equivalent qualification/fellowship) or fulfilling the guidelines of DBT/DST.

Age limit: 28 years on the date of application, with relaxation to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government of India norms.

Desirable: Strong theoretical background on plant genetic engineering and research experience in the field of basic plant molecular biology & plant tissue culture is desirable. Consistently good academic record would be a plus.

Salary: Rs. 31,000 per month + HRA p.m. as per rules.  

Appointment will be purely on temporary basis for one year and co-terminus with the project. The eligible candidates may further be shortlisted based on qualifications/experience depending on the number of applications received. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email about the interview date and time.

Applications are invited on a plain paper for purely temporary positions for one Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) and one Project Technical Support III in a project entitled "Study of the development of radioresistance mechanism in oral cancer via single-cell profiling of patient-derived tumor models.” funded by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi, India.

(A) Project Research Scientist- I (Non-Medical) (01)

Essential Qualification:

1.  First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees in Biological Sciences, or
2. Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees with Ph.D. in Biological Sciences.

Desirables:  The candidate should have working experience for mammalian cell culture, western blotting, PCR, and animal tumor models. The candidate is also desired to have knowledge/exposure to transcriptomics and proteomics of tumor samples and management of research project.

Salary: Rs. 56000/- + (27% HRA) p.m.

Maximum Age limit:- 35 years (Age relaxation will be in accordance with Government of India instructions).

(B) Project Technical Support - III (01)

Essential Qualification: Three year graduate in relevant subject/ field + three year experience or PG in Relevant Subject/Field.

Desirables: A candidate with work experience in a biological laboratory, preparation of various reagents, and maintenance of project records will be preferred.

The Project Technical Support-III is required to have sufficient experience in research project management including laboratory work, procurement, animal care and handling, and sample transportation.

Salary: Rs. 28000/- + (27% HRA) p.m

Maximum Age limit: 35 years (Age relaxation will be in accordance with Government of India instructions.)

Duration of the project: The selected candidate will be appointed on a purely temporary basis till the duration of the project (3 years) following the satisfactory annual progress.
