Applications are invited to attend "Interview (in-person/online through video conferencing) " for the post mentioned in the advertisement to work in the ICAR funded network project “Towards optimization of C3 photosynthesis and understanding the functionality of C4/CAM photosynthesis genes in rice” at ICAR- NBPGR, New Delhi as mentioned below. The eligible candidates who were interested may apply in the enclosed proforma along with scanned copy of the original documents to the PI’s e-mail address as given below latest by June 30, 2024, 5:30 PM. The position is temporary and co-terminus with the project’ tenure. After screening the applications, ONLY the short-listed candidates passing through initial screening will be informed with interview details, to appear either in-person or online mode. Original documents of the candidates appearing interview in-person will be verified on the interview date. In case of online interview, the original documents will be verified at a later stage. Interview 

Project title: Towards optimization of C3 photosynthesis and understanding the functionality of C4/CAM photosynthesis genes in rice

Project tenure: till March 2026 

Research Associate (01) 

Rs. 54,000 + 24% HRA

Essential qualification: Ph. D degree in Agriculture / any branch of life sciences with ≥ 60% marks (or equivalent GPA) in post-graduation from a recognized University or equivalent. 

Desirable Qualification: 

I. Research experience in molecular biology / biotechnology / plant physiology / plant biochemistry / bioinformatics / relevant discipline with the mentioned specialization from recognized Agricultural University as evident through research publications. 

Upper age limit: 40 years (addl. 5 yrs for women or SC/ST) 

Senior Research Fellow (02) 

Rs. 31,000 + 24% HRA for 1st and 2nd year; Rs. 35,000 + 24% HRA for subsequent years. 

Essential qualification: NET / GATE qualified post-graduate in agriculture or in life sciences with ≥ 60% marks (or equivalent GPA) from a recognized University or equivalent. 

Desirable Qualification: 

I. Research experience in molecular biology / biotechnology / plant physiology / plant biochemistry / bioinformatics / relevant discipline with the mentioned specialization from recognized Agricultural University as evident through research publications. 

Upper age limit: 35 years (addl. 5 yrs for women or SC/ST) 

Terms and Conditions 

 Candidates are requested to ensure their eligibility like age, qualification etc. before appearing for the interview, and age relaxation is applicable as per the ICAR norms. 
 Candidates having essential qualification will only be considered for screening. 
 No TA/DA or official accommodation will be provided for those appearing in the interview. 
 The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project tenure, selected candidate has no right to claim for regularization or absorption whatsoever in ICAR/NBPGR 
 The decision of the Director of the institute will be final and binding in all aspects. 
 The Director shall also reserve the right to terminate the contract of job as mentioned above, even before the completion of the project for which no appeal thereof shall be made. 
 Candidates are required to bring the relevant certificates/ mark sheets etc in original along with an application with full bio-data enclosing photocopies of certificates and mark sheets from matriculation onwards duly attested affixing a passport size photograph on the top. The selected candidate will be required to produce medical certificate at the time of joining. 
 In case of any disputes, it will be resolved in the jurisdiction of New Delhi court only.
