The Bird Monitoring Group at Nature Conservation Foundation is seeking a Field Coordinator (Deccan region) to work on a multi-year project to improve the quality and quantity of bird data available for conservation. The project will focus on addressing bird data gaps in data-deficient regions in the country. This role is supported by The Habitats Trust and is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic about travel, fieldwork, and about birds in general. The role requires a candidate who can join us as early as possible after accepting the offer.
Location: Can be remote, with travel across the region and to Bangalore as required
Key responsibilities:
Conduct and oversee fieldwork for bird monitoring in data-poor regions
Manage logistics and smooth functioning of the project on ground
Collect data systematically
Develop and maintain relationships with individuals and partners from the region
Requirements:
Birding and field skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Reasonable familiarity with one or more languages spoken in the region - Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, Deccani Urdu, and Hindi
Willingness to travel extensively across the region
Salary:
25k per month
