WALK- IN-INTERVIEW 

Eligible candidates are invited to attend WALK-IN INTERVIEW for the post of “Junior Research Fellow (JRF)” sanctioned under LSRB project entitled ‘‘Gender based association of basal metabolic rate and erythrocyte channel omics with metabolic acidosis and heat illness severity in Indian population”, under Dr Kalpana Barhwal, Department of Physiology, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar on 21st October 2024 The essential qualifications, experience, fellowship and service tenure are as under: 

Project Name and Project ID Gender based association of basal metabolic rate and erythrocyte channel omics with metabolic acidosis and heat illness severity in Indian population 

Project Duration Project duration is 02 years. Initial appointment will be on contract basis for 06 months and based on performance, extension will be granted for 1 year at a time, till closure of the project. 

Period of Appointment 02 years or till PDC of the project whichever is earlier Resource 

Upper age limit 30 years as on the date of interview 

Education Masters in Science (M.Sc.)/M.Tech. Essential qualification M.Sc./M.Tech in Life Sciences /Physiology/Bio-Medical Sciences/Zoology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Neurophysiology/Allied Sciences/Allied subjects with at least 55% of the aggregate marks in the qualifying examinations. 

Desirable qualification Valid Gate score 

Key Skills Biochemical measurements, expertise in proteomics (SDS PAGE, western blot), genomics (RT-PCR, mRNA studies), polymorphism studies, immunocytochemistry, etc. 

Ability to communicate in English, Hindi and Oriya 

Job Title Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Proposed Salary Rs 35,000/- (As per the guidelines of funding agency) 

Core Responsibilities 

 To collect blood samples from nearby districts of Odisha 
 To obtain anthropometric and BMR data  Expertise in proteomics and genomics (western blot, RT-PCR, CoIP, CHIP, etc) 
 Expertise in immunocytochemistry, single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) studies

Terms and conditions 

1. These are tenure vacancies under funded project and are not employment on AIIMS Bhubaneswar pay roll. Employment will be automatically terminated upon completion of the project and there is no liability for permanent employment on AIIMS, Bhubaneswar or Principal Investigator. Also, the candidates have no right to claim permanent employment based on this job. 
2. AIIMS, BBSR deserves the right to terminate the fellowship with a prior notice of 1 month if performance in not satisfactory. 
3. Selected candidates with valid NET- JRF will be considered for enrolment to Ph.D programme (as and when advertised) subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria. 
4. Selected candidates may have to undergo training at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. 
5. No TA/DA will be paid for attending this Walk-in-Interview. 
6. All other terms and conditions will be regulated by the guidelines as issued by SERB & AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
