Requirement for Post-doc
Applications are invited from interested candidates for immediate requirement to work as a Post-doc under a funded project. The positions are purely on a temporary basis with the possibility for further extension
Name of the post: Post-doc
Duration: Two years.
Qualifications: Ph.D in Biological Sciences/ Life Sciences/ Bio medical Science/ Biotechnology. Candidates with experience and publications in indexed journals would be preferred.
Experience: Candidates with prior laboratory experience in more than one of the following techniques is mandatory:
• Mammalian primary and stable cell culture, transfection, aseptic techniques
• Molecular biology techniques including cloning, PCR, QPCR, etc.
• Biochemistry techniques including protein isolation, immunoblotting, tissue staining techniques and microscopy.
• Previous experience with animal handling and animal tissue experiments is preferred.
• Some knowledge about pharmacological assays needed for new formulations.
The role: The post holders will be primarily responsible to perform cell culture techniques, protein and gene expression studies. The candidate should be acquainted with gain and loss of function studies using plasmids or pharmacological blocker/activators. Clinical sample processing and their bio-banking and participate in all the laboratory activities. The post may require some travelling when required for experiments to be performed at core facilities.
Other selection criteria:
- A team player with excellent communication skills, including the ability to write scientific text and present data
- Experience of working in a research team and contributing ideas for new research projects.
